Well firstly... That looked fantastic. Everything from the V3'd stuff through to the new scan visual and gate travel. Well done.

One problem for me: I think my pc might explode...It literally barely runs Eve as it now so this new expansion is the actual death of it haha. Anyone else going to have pc problems?

Time for me to falcon punch the old pc out the window and get me a shiney new one...thank you CCP for giving me a reason to pull my finger out my backside and purchase one Big smile

I look forward to playing Odyssey!!!

Hey dude,

Gonna be waiting on Skype for the screams as your house burns down after your pc explodes.

My computer is 5 years old and wasn't even top of the line then.
I have no problems running eve.

Stop playing on a toaster, problem solved.

Just to save your wallet:

You DONT need a shiny new PC. Any reasonably current CPU with a discrete graphics card of almost any kind will do.

I am having the same problem .. back in 2006 I was running EVE on my laptop no problems, now 2013 new laptop i5,6 RAM and having problems running one client on all low settings... Sad

I was there...

I know, but by shiney new pc...I simply meant newer than what I have...tbh anything is an upgrade... Looking at getting roughly what my mate Ziphis is running which...erm yeah I got no idea what without asking him... Im sure he'll reply and tell me haha

Eve can be played on a toaster!??!!? My god..the implications are staggering...no longer will I be forced to run through the house like a madperson to make toast while in a long warp, only to run back and find cold toast during the next warp.

This is surely the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Seriously?

I have a core 2 duo from 2009 and a graphics card that's just as old on my laptop and I'm doing fine on medium/high settings.

Maybe you should delete system32

I'm guessing "xKOMODOx" doesn't have a discrete video card in his "new" laptop and is actually running with the CPU-integrated graphics, whereas your laptop has a (nowadays) modest but still somewhat capable standalone video card.

What are your actual PC specs ? Can you please post them ?
EDIT - do you need help figuring how to do that ? - END EDIT

If you're lucky (wallet-wise), maybe you could just about make due with everything else you already have and massively boost performance by just getting a new budget-ish video card, and maybe a bit of extra system RAM, everything for about a hundred bucks (or a bit more, but not very much).

I think this is the specs: Asus Intel Core i5 450M(2.40GHz), 1366 x 768, WXGA Display - 6 GB RAM DDR3 - 700 GB HDD 5400rpm - DVD-Writer - nVIDIA G310M, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD

New V3 Graphics look good, Portal Jump looks good

New System Scanner is going to be a pain if it is a replacement of the current system, I'll have to minimise all my windows to see things

The worst thing I saw however was the Radial Menu System thing.

If you thought that was good, wait untill you see what they have in development for weapons fire.

IE: Weapons hitting shields, armor and hull. And explosions.

The graphics programming round table was amazing. Just too bad it´s so far off...

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

Yeah hess,

In currently running win 7 home premium (don't like 8) 1tb hdd and a 500gb hdd, 8gb RAM i5 3.33ghz (I think) and a GTX 570 which as you know I'm looking to update xD but yeah your "toaster" needs an update be careful though as Battlestsr taught us Toasters often rebel and start killing xD

Yeah I'm afraid I'm going to have to break out the old banana hammock and dance for some $$ so I can build a new PC.

It is worth building one yourself. That way in the future you only need to upgrade parts. Graphics cards and CPU's to tend to become obsolete however HDD's Cases and power supplies will last you a good deal longer. Much cheaper than a full upgrade and enables you to stay totally competitive for a somewhat lower cost over the long term. RAM probably comes in between the two when it comes to obsolescence. For example this year I have uprated my GPU CPU and Mobo. Admittedly I spent some money on it but still much cheaper than getting a new future toaster every time.

Ouch.
Yup, 3D acceleration side, severely lacking.
Basically, it means you are probably using just the graphics chip that's inside the i5 450M CPU, a processor that came out first nearly 3 years ago, with the very first (and also very weak) generation of Intel HD graphics chip parts.
It should be at least 4 times slower (maybe even 6 times slower) than current-gen Intel HD 4000s in similarly-priced CPUs, and who knows how much slower compared to the 5th gen "GT*" series which will be included in the CPUs that come out this summer.

For desktops anyway. Of course, for laptops, it's extremely difficult.

On the other hand, this machine I use now (i5 760, 1 GB GTX 460) already was fairly budget-balanced when I bought it ~2.5 years ago, and it's still quite acceptable overall, probably still will be somewhat passable even a year from now.
The only thing I've upgraded on it so far was the RAM (from 4 GB to 16 GB), and I've been procrastinating on getting a SSD (because I dread going through a new OS install - first and only Win setup so far was when I got the machine home).
