Scanning clutter

Just wondering if anyone knows how to rid all of the clutter on the scanner interface. Stuff like the probe tags (eg. Scanner Probe 01 (idle) .25au ) if possible all i want to see, and thus be able to interact with, is just the probe handles, spheres, and the icon, no tooltip, of the site I'm scanning.

Totally agree. Its annoying. Especially if you are chain collapsing. Your entire system map gets cluttered with the wormhole tags.

As far as i know in the scanner interface, no apart from deleting old bookmarks which should be done regularly.

+1, make sure you clear the corps BMs too

I don't quite understand the problem -

are you talking abot the scantab or the in-map-brackets?
are you adressing the fact that your bookmarks are out-of-date after dt or that you sometimes have lots of red dots on scan?
For the lots of red dots, you can just click the red dot in your scantab, only the currently selected are shown in space.
I'm playing almost exclusively on my probemap and can't draw a connection to anything issue I'd notice.

Yeah, when I am chain collapsing I will relog after every scan.. that's not annoying :P

When you are scanning and trying to reposition your probes, your mouse hovering over anything close to the probe arrow will result in you unable to select the probe arrow. Whether this is a BM, a "unstable wormhole"-tag, tag of the probe itself...

When you are for instance chain collapsing, the "unstable wormhole" tag will start to clutter the map in a way that you would have to relog to get rid of them, or probing is just about impossible. Same for having a lot of (corp) BMs in a system....

I just jump out and reset once every 6 or 7 wormholes. Not an ideal solution but beats relogging, or even worse, leaving it there :/.

Personally I don't mind the map clutter that much. Yes it is most definitely annoying, but Eve's interface is so archaic that it could almost be considered a separate skillset for a pilot to learn how to navigate it efficiently. With scanning going to be even easier in Odyssey, I definitely don't mind some interface clutter that I can get around but would slow my competitors down. If I can beat you to the static by a nose because you wasted an extra 15 seconds getting to the probe handles, that's fine by me :).

After seeing the key note i wonder what the pinpoint formation of probes will be.
Also dropping 7 probes at once will come in handy.

it looks like there might be more clutter but there is also more clarity, you can see anomalies at once and even see them in the visual part not only the list!
Easier to aline to when needed.
i just wonder if they will change radar and magnetosites in w-space

No local in null sec would fix everything!

Well - about 7 probes at once - it's quite nice idea, but there is little voice in my head " what with those guys, who trained Astrometrics at 5 and are using 8 probes?". I’m also one of them - so should I click button twice, or just activate module old fashion way?

There is also little concern about positioning probes - during keynotes we saw preset with 7 probes scatered through entire system and a screenshot of "pinpointing mode". I think first mode is kinda useless. Whole new system of probe formations is long waited and demanded by players, but only with feature of creating your own presets.

The main issue, in my opinion, is that with new system new player, who just started to learn about scanning, will got a much more shorter way to travel up to his mastery in exploration, and ppl that already got skill and experience will benefit from it of course, but with small inconveniences.

I think CCP entered on a path leading to simplify EvE to new players. This is a good move, but all steps taken on a way to achieving this goal should be made very, very careful. Why? Because in EvE starting some kind of activity - like exploration - should be easy, but mastering that activity should require some devotion from player.
