By some freak coincidence, some of my alts mine in a system exactly 6 jumps from Amarr, and I still find belts to mine in, in that one system, 2 hours before downtime. If you can't find any belts 18 hours before downtime...there's a problem. Did you go 6 jumps from Amarr in the direction of Jita, or something? Go the other way.

This thread makes me smile because I know everyone that replied to this thread before now has been trolled.

[edit]

Also it seems people are continuing to be trolled.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

So move your 'home' station to somewhere that has better roid availability. You gotta go where the resources are.

For example, I up and moved my manufacturing operation a few months ago, because my 'home' station was getting too popular and the queues were getting long. So I packed up everything and shipped it out a few jumps to settle down in pastures new.
Turns out, it was a much better decision; it also allowed me to move my refining and missioning operations there as well due to standings, and it's not much further from trade hubs.

If there are untouched fields in the most obvious and convenient mining spots (e.g. Oiniken, 31 belts 5 jumps from Jita) nine hours after downtime, then it is not even remotely a lack of asteroids, and NA is most certainly not missing out.

I've been online just before downtime multiple times before and I have seen lots of empty belts near Jita.

Move system and check other belts more.

I play just before downtime, and I never have trouble finding ore to mine. You must be in a popular system, so move to somewhere a further away from the trade hubs.

OP you must come down and mine in Teonusude or the Molden Heath region. Many good ores here. I will say hello to you in my cata.

It is possible you are correct.

The topic does bring up a bit of imbalance in the Eve Universe though. With a static downtime there will always be timezones that are at a disadvantage when it comes to getting the choice ores. Putting the Eve universe on a 25 hour clock would give us rolling downtime's and give everyone a chance at the choice ore, or just the chance to play without being forced to always have to log out during their prime play time.

But, but... wasn't mining supposed to be a risk-free, no-PvP profession?

Now seriously, there's plenty of asteroids even right before downtime. Use any of the online ore maps to locate systems with 20 or more fields and at least 1 station, and go give a peek. If population is below 40, there are enough asteroids of your liking and/or there are no secure containers in the belts, it likely is a quiet system with no resident corporation and thus a good candidate to being your home system.

People with a quitter mentality will struggle to prosper in Eve. Eve is not easy. But in return for being hard, it can be very rewarding, if you're willing to push your personal boundaries.

Protection in hisec is also not guaranteed. Concord arrives AFTER you are attacked.

Look, you should find people to play with. A group. Then you should go to nullsec. And mine. And plex. And rat. And PvP.

Play this game. Hiding in hisec looking for 'roids to shoot is the least imaginative way to play this game.

Work with other people. Take some calculated risks. Explore the universe, most of it has already been settled for you, and in many cases, Null systems can be a lot safer than hisec.

Take his advice. Only weirdos like me stay in high sec. Much more fun to be had in low or null sec for the non-weirdo crowd and nowhere near the danger there used to be.

If you want to stay in high sec though you might want to explore a bit more, there are many many places with full belts up in the dead of night 30minutes before downtime still. Wander around a bit during your active time, see how many belts various systems have and the numbers of miners, pick a slow area and belt and mine yourself silly.

Or if you are exceptionally stubborn and resistant to either movement or change take up exploration and mine grav sites.

this
there are plenty of high sec backwater constellations that have more belts than people in them
further you move away from the major hubs less people you find
another secret a station in system isd NOT mndatory

Posting in the best troll thread so far this year. 10/10, would read again.

On the off chance that the OP is serious ( I find it hard to believe anybody can be that dense however), I mine in HS on an alt sometimes when I want to make isk, but cba watching local. The system I mine in is about 10 jumps from Jita. Never once have all the belts been empty.

If you want to mine, find some backwater little system. Its not rocket surgery…

Dear North American Market.

You, like Europe have a large percentage of the population of EvE online, so it is rather a bonus for those in a TZ where we can barely find anyone to speak too in a corp, that we actually have something to do.

Now there are always asteroid belts in places like Metropolis that are never touched, so you just need to move further away from a trade hub. There are asteroids all over the place after down time, you just need to look.

So in wrapping up I just have to say to the North American Market is, get bent.

Yours Sincerely,

Someone who does not live in North America. Lol

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!
