Caldari State
#1 - 2013-04-19 17:47:47 UTC  |  Edited by: Stitcher
THIS is nothing more than a power grab by a tyrannical megalomaniac who has bullied and berated his way up the echelons of power in the State since he first appeared. As CEO of Kaalakiota he is already as powerful as any man has a right to be.

And now he calls to unify the State? Presumably to dissolve the CEP? I have no doubts as to whom he envisions enthroned at the top of the pile when his reshuffle is done. He's not doing this for the glory of the state, he's doing it for the glory of his own hubris and it shall not stand, not on my watch.

Notice he singled out the agents of reason and construction among the megacorps in his speech? Notice how he singled out the ones who dared to defy him? Notice how his anger is directed at the people who have the hubris to disagree with him?

Competition is growth. We live in an economy of persons, and ideas. Everything the "Beloved Executor" is proposing here is anathema to the meritocracy he himself was so inspired to build five years ago.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The State is divided precisely to limit the harm that one individual can do by abusing their power, and in seeking to dissolve the corporate meritocracy, Tibus Heth is showing himself to be an enemy of Caldari ideals, not their upholder.

Effective immediately, Hakatain Dynasty is implementing a boycott of all Kaalakiota-branded goods and products, and I call upon like-minded capsuleers to follow suit. Heth means to destroy the State, and as a loyal Caldari my Heiian compels me to do everything in my power to stop him.

How many more insults must be endured? This man came to power on the mandate of RESTORING the traditions of the corporate State and now he seeks to cling to power at the cost of tearing down the State our ancestors built with their hands?

Enough.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

This is not a Federal affair nor any affair of mine, so I will not get involved beyond my coming two statements:

First of all, I have complete confidence that the people of the State will decide for themselves what they want and need, it will not be up to a single man, no matter who, to decide this.

Second, I do find it very humorous that I apparently know more of Caldari history than Tibus Heth does. The term "Caldari" was only used when the Gallente and Caldari made first contact. The term "Gallente" was used by the captain of the ship making first-contact to be a unified term for all the peoples of the world that would become known as Gallente Prime. In return the locals of the world that would be named Caldari Prime named themselves "Caldari" as a similar unifying designation.

No Raata citizen would ever recognize the term "Caldari" because it first came into use centuries after that Empire fractured and broke, and the Caldari were quite divided along different nation-states upon first contact.

In closing though, I will simply repeat: I have complete confidence that the people of the State will decide for themselves what they want and need, it will not be up to a single man, no matter who, to decide this.

Good luck managing your internal affairs.

Hunh. I wonder if anyone fancies a cup of tea with the man...

It really makes sense, though, from his point of view. The CEP is based on the idea that the corporations are all components of the larger State governed by their combined interests, much like the different parts of the mind in the Structural Model of psychology all interact. Heth wants to be dictator, and you can't be a real dictator if there's a ruling panel. A State structured along the lines of the Raata Empire would, of course, have a Raata Emperor.

Unifying the State now is the best course of action.

The Power is in Unity!

We should not allow traitors to separate our nation into small parts, and sell these parts to Gallenteans one by one!

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

Yo Kim,

You're really swallowing it?

Let me ask you, one Saisio dog to another, just how many of your ancestors were Raata? I'm pretty sure I heard none of mine were around Caldari Prime back then.

Hell, KK is my family, but this is plain nuts.

This is an abomination, a post-facto justification of his desire for absolute power.

Do you know what an empire has? An emperor. That is what Heth wants to be -- not first among equals, not even the restorer of a meritocracy that was admittedly crumbling, but an emperor.

We must oppose this man's madness -- with words and deeds both.

Far be it from me to dictate to my Caldari allies how to handle your own affairs, so I will simply state that it is my sincere prayer that the turmoil tearing through your State and its people would be settled soon and in a way that benefits you and makes you stronger both as a collective unity of people and as a society in the midst of an increasingly dangerous cluster.

May wisdom and truth guide your future.

I've not often remarked on the past few weeks of Crisis in the State. I believed I had nothing to add to the situation, and so I left it to better informed Caldari.

However, in hearing this statement by Mr. Heth, I feel I can say with some confidence:

This man has just signed his own Death Warrant.

Wow.

The Federation threw Foiritan out for less, not that I am suggesting any course of action to the people of the State.

For comparison, if this were being said from a President in an attempt to rule with a dictator's fist and go against the founding principles upon which the Federation was forged, I'd like to think they'd have a bullet between the eyes by the end of the week.

Again, not that I'm suggesting anything...

You know, in terms of "unifying the Caldari," something tells me that if he keeps trying hard enough, Heth will eventually get his wish.

But not in the way he imagines it.

Ah bollocks. He finally went around the bend. There was still room to maneuver and do things right before this, but now there's no turning back. Tibus Heth, I thank you for all the things you've done for the State. The deeds were many and notable, and that should never be forgotten. Now though, now you've gone too far. I've remained loyal throughout it all, but this is the end.

Heeian demands that [OTSI] cease all trade with KK or their affiliates. Our services are no longer available and until this is dealt with by the megas, we will not be associating ourselves with the State. Once this issue has been dealt with by the proper authorities, contracts and connections will be re-negotiated.

This unfortunately also means all direct trades with the State Protectorate forces will also be on hold. OTSI regrets any inconvenience or empty rail and launcher turrets this may cause, not to mention the profit loss, but this is an unavoidable consequence.

Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

To be fair, MOST of the State has been moving together with recently, specifically in regards to Caldari Prime. 6 of the Megacorps have fully backed the current policy, and even Lai Dai who disagrees is willing to go with the flow. The ONLY dissenter is Heth and Kalaakiota.
===
Where does this man learn his history from?

Our corporate factionalism has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Gallente. Beyond that, we ARE united, we may be loyal to a specific subset of the State, but we are all ultimately loyal to the State as a whole (well most of us anyways).

On a side note, I have a feeling Heth is on the way out soon for his hubris and willingness to harm the State to gain his own power. I wonder what that will mean for Kaalakiota. Generally, corporations working against their people and the State and taking part in bad dealings are dissolved and absorbed. Generally this is just a subsidiary disappearing into their parent corp, but top level corporations are not immune, during the Caldari-Gallente War, the CEOs of the corporations opposed to the war were made to take part in the Tea Maker's Ceremony(the Morning of Reasoning) and the corps' assets were divided amongst the corporations that did support the war: the eight megas we have now.

I am not suggesting it should happen, but I fear it is a distinct possibility that Heth may actually take KK down with him.

Tea with the Executor sounds fabulous! He is more than welcome to swing by my pad on the shores of Great Tekojarvi. It would be even more fabulous if he brought Haatakan along with. I'd love to talk about exotic flora....

Heth's plan isn't to unite the Caldari, it's to unite the Caldari under him. Apparently, being the de-facto ruler of a country isn't enough, now he wants his power solidified.

Luckily at least half the state won't give that to him.

State politics is a bit schizophrenic so who knows what will happen. Underestimating Executor Heths popularity with the “common” man would be unwise. All that wailing from the State about their desire for a single, powerful, uniting visionary... Well it looks like you got one. Enjoy.

Someone needs to make Heth open a history book. He can try pinning a lot of things on the Gallente but, corporate culture isn't one of them.

I doubt it will be long before Heth steps down for "health reasons" or, has an untimely accident. A fatal one, of course.

This is like calling the ascension of the top step of a flight of stairs the 'first step towards' something. There have been many such, perhaps hidden from your view, but necessary in the long climb to this point.

Thankfully it is not yet the last step towards Civil War. I pray to Winds and the Maker that Executor Heth wakes up before he takes that one and steps down.
