Hello gents (and gals)!

I'm considering starting an Orca booster alt for mining in 0.6, I have the fit down, but i'm not certain what support skills would be a good idea for focusing on. I have read elsewhere on the forum that you can get a decent dual-tank on the Orca (Shield/hull), how are your experience with this?
I basically just want it for boosting my miningefforts in the short to medium run, and perhaps use it for missionrunningboosts later on..
Any input on what skills to focus on would be greatly appreciated!

Orca boosting doesn't make sense unless you have 3-4 characters mining. With just 2 you are better off skilling up another miner. Also be aware that Orcas are getting much easier to fly in the summer. In terms of tanking an Orca I generally go for hull, and shield tanks . Basically fit shield resists, damage control, and bulkheads. You lack the low solts to armor tank effectively in an Orca.

Orca training requirements will be changing in the June patch. Check the rebalancing development blog.

Thanks guys, I had completely missed the part about them changing the training for the Orca.. I think I'll wait then :)
Oh, I guess i forgot to say it isn't just for boosting myself, but also a group of my friends :)

Here's one everybody misses: train for a Shield Harmonizing gang link.

I've never had use for a tractor beam on an Orca.

It doesn't hurt to train the other leadership skills too for 10% bonuses.

i spent the time on my alt training these skills, and not once have i regret it.
very worth the training time.

I prefer a shield booster in a Vulture ... but totally agree if you don't have the skills for one of those yet.

This man speaks the truth. You really only need cycle time and laser distance on the orca, the cap saver sucks, if the mining ships aren't cap stable without it, **** them.

The shield harmonizing link can mean the difference between a miner surviving a gank or dying to a gank. The tears of the gankers are glorious when that happens. Doesn't happen often, but it's epic when it does (I'll eventually remember to throw drones on them before they go pop by concord)

I'd love to do this, but not everyone has an extra alt to use for this as well as paying for the orca and all miners.
