PG or CPU Implants?

I want more CPU and PG and I don't currently use my upper implant slots.

As I understand it, the CPU and PG implants use the same slot so I can only choose one. The question is - which is more useful - the PG or CPU implants?

So far in my pyfa/eft warrioring I've noticed that I'm usually short on CPU and with me finally training up AWU5 I should have a tiny bit more PG to spare but I want the communities opinion on this. Does choosing the better implant depend on ship class/race?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

The Genolution pair is the best bargain for a newer player at the moment.

Used to go for around 40m each, now down to around 25m each because everyone was given one over the holidays.

But thats still a lot to lose if you're PvPing.

Try fitting a few named mods instead of T2's. Like the X5 web and J5B scram.

Calm down it's just a name. Feel free to look up my (limited) posting history. BTW good luck with the report - doubt anything happens. Ironically you're the one who ended up trolling - good job. Thanks for the constructive post.

I thought I could fit a 1-2% cpu or pg implant for pretty cheap - am I wrong about that? I just figured I should get something out of an implant slot I'm not currently using...

Depends on the ships you fly.

Example, many Gallente drone boats are very CPU starved.

Depends on the ship type you use, and the weapon system you use. Test some fits out in EFT and see what works and what doesn't...

I personally fly a lot of gallente, and find a small amount of extra PG very helpful in tweaking out my blasterboats.

I had to look up the names of the implants. I'm not going to use the Genolution implants (those were only a one-shot gift right?) but rather one of these two:
'Squire' Engineering EG-601 - adds 1% PG
Zainou 'Gypsy' Electronics EE-601 - adds 1% CPU

Not nearly as good as the Genolution implants but at under a million each they're basically free. I might as well use *something* in that slot.

Yeah I'm leaning toward CPU because a lot of fits I try often come up like 1-2% cpu short.

Heh. Sorta funny that you and the previous poster both thought of Gallente as lacking differently in terms of PG/CPU.

In addition to keeping in mind the ships & their fittings, where do you intend to fly ships that require them (high, low, null)? Do you intend to get podded frequently? Will you keep a stockpile of these hardwirings alongside replacement ships that require them?

They can cause logistical headaches when you wake up in a fresh new clone, with a hanger full of ships you can't quite fly, unless you have the required hardwirings ready to go.

My policy has actually been to avoid using PG or CPU implants in that six-slot - because if you get podded and you lose the implant, any ships you had fitted with the implant in mind won't work with a blank clone.

My personal preference in the six-slot runs more towards a Navigation (NN) implant, but that's because I'm mostly engaged in light-ship combat these days, but there are other general-use implants that can make your life a little easier without causing nightmares if you lose them. Energy System Operation (EO) implants will improve your capacitor recharge rate, nice considering all the boats for which cap is life; Repair Systems (RS) if you're an active armor tanker and want to repair faster; various gun and missile mods that help you hit adversaries harder; and a whole bunch of others.

It depends on what you like to fly.
