Hi Cee and Pee!

To the HiSec gankers of you: How do you feel about rolling the dice and blowing up Cloaky Haulers when you get the chance - like for example on the Jita/Amarr/Rens/Dodi undock. Is that something that is generally done from time to time? They aren't scannable anymore but then again they could be carrying all kinds of stuff that would've been carried by Orcas before the change from Technetium over blueprints to PLEX.

Does a healthy bounty (like 30 mill, 50 mill or more) on the target change something about your chances to shoot on a cloaky? Killing someone with expensive freight could result in a juicy payout after all.

I am asking because i have noticed that popping cloakies doesn't really to happen very frequently, something that i find somewhat surprising.

Please discuss.

Depends on type and tank. A viator may be an easy pop, a crane not so much. Plus, given they can warp cloaked and all, it's tough to catch them if they are actively piloted. Honestly, how many do you see being auto-piloted in the first place?

As for them being loot pinatas, I thought the general view was pop them if you can. If they drop the cloak and tolerable salvageyou already can break even. The cargo is a bonus. Heck, that is why my Indy alt switched to the tanky t2 Indy ship for small loads, less chance to be ganked.

I know that whenever i undock from Rens in my Viator, despite using some shield tanking and an instant undock, i am always very paranoid about every ship on the overview. I use it for travelling a lot bit as it's unscannable i always expect to get popped on the undock.

What you are saying sounds like them not actually being that vulnerable on the undock as i think.

It's well to remember that not all gankers are in it for the ISK.

In my humblest of opinions, if you are old enough to fly one of those and have anything expensive, you either have an insta-undock at every trade hub or you are an utter clown. Pretty difficult to catch a cloaky if they employ that technique.

I think the main strategy here revolves around the runner not having a 0-dock bookmark, since most people do have instas.

In which case it will be a roll of the dice, but considering they are one of the best ships for carrying some of the highest value/m3 cargo in the game, might be something I give a try.

If they are afk I'll scan them down for their fittings and gank them accordingly. Bounty or not. It takes 2-3 t1 catas to kill one. If it's empty, whatever, I've got more catas.

Almost no blockade runners are ganked since the last nerf.

Your bounty is irrevelant.
