Seldarine is correct--I misspoke when I said Bo5 for the third place match. We had not agreed on the format for that and I extrapolated based on the format for the final and what seemed to make sense given the scheduling. My apologies! Will edit that out!

Looking forward to SCL 3. It's going to be a stellar event. The Team Captains have their work cut out for them with the changes on Sisi and the rules. Even though Turtle/Tinker tanks have been pushed to the side, I'm sure you'll come up with a new comp to stump your opponents.

Don't be shy if you are interested in doing commentary. They let me do it after all. You should also not be shy if you want to give us ISK.

- serious teams does not care about isk, if its needed they raise isk from contributors or earn by themself
- losses in ships are irrelevant, what matters is to win or loose the match, and have good time

Most pilots, and thus most viewers, are not as wealthy tho. And while I'm not the poorest of the poor, I still like to see ships explode. Or barely survive! Partly because I know how much they are worth.

- simplified, tranquility is big cluster of computers (hosts), each running an instance of a database, one per system
- what happens in the torunament is GM makes your client to connect to another database, "in Jove space", and that database and host are used to prevent interference as you explained yourself - thats host is not part of TQ, same thing with SiSi, as spectator you can watch the video broadcast, and for spectator its not important to what exactly are competitors clients connected to

I am well aware that Eve runs on a cluster. But all TQ servers are connected to the same DB. SiSi nodes are not.
If someone is shot during AT and I had a bounty on him, I will actually get the notification about that. If a pilot looses SP those will be lost for good and not reset from TQ on the next mirror.
But all this is more of a, hm, psychological point, really, and thus very subjective. A bit similar to suspension of disbelieve in movies, I suppose, which is different from viewer to viewer.

On another matter, I have a question for the teams:
Assuming you deem AT (or NEO) matches/victories more important than SCL..
- Do you see SCL as a good way to stay 'in form' during the year? (I heard about some not even playing anymore on TQ but only subbing for training and the tournaments)
- Seeing how AT training was often done with extreme security measures, setting up in secret wormholes and everything.. don't you think that SCL matches gives away to much intel to the opponents?
- Do you think there are teams using the SCL to convey a wrong image of themselves in order to gain a meta advantage for AT?

Even though the SCL isn't as high profile as the AT or the NEO it's the same type of piloting. It keeps people in the mindset of individual piloting and also keeps captains thinking about theorycrafting.

The points and format are very likely to change from what we do to what CCP will do.

People gain a lot more experience from this than they would in other fashions. I highly doubt that they're misrepresenting themselves. Trying setups that they might deem too risky for the AT, yeah. But throwing matches to give people a false sense of security, no.

Considering two of the past AT champions/top contenders have been our two winners (Pandemic Legion and Hydra Reloaded), I doubt anyone is throwing matches to give out a false sense of weakness. I could be wrong, but so far we've seen high quality fights from the high quality and historied AT teams, and I expect that will continue.

- Yeah great way to stay in form, great practise, also adds to list of people I can ask to fly on future teams..
- no, things change rapidly , as do setups - can be a good thing for people to think I'm more likely to field golems or widows - i can adjust what I actually field according to what I think they think I'll field
- definitely not

To be honest, with SCL beeing on SiSi, I kind of lack the interest to watch. I wonder if I'm the only one.

In my book, SiSi tournaments lack important elements of Eve:
a) consequences / tangible losses and b) beeing part of the "One Universe".

I know, tournaments will always have a special place, as CCP helps to prevent interference from others and to ensure the rules. But there's only so much you can change until it's not longer part of Eve at all. May aswell have StarConflict matches :p

EDIT:
Don't get me wrong, as long as enough participants and viewers are having fun and the orga is satisfied with the turnout, yay. I don't expected everything Eve related to be entertaining to me.

Sucks to be you. You understand that if it was on Tranq it'd cost most teams ~40 bill? Every month?

We're working on it still, the staff have all been pretty busy especially with some of us about to leave for Fanfest, but we should have them up before Fanfest broken down as individual matches. The first weekend is already posted on our Twitch page as such, and the second weekend for the moment is up in rather large chunks that are uncut and full of breaks/spaces and has the dev interviews and such mixed in. I'll make sure someone on the staff posts here once they're completely broken out though.

Isn't that supposed to be 18?

And why are the BCs still seperated into the 3 tiers while they all cost the same point wise?

You are correct, the point value was 18 on the file sent to our web guy, there must have been a mistake made when changing the site, I'll get it sorted.

YES I CAN CONFIRM TEST IS THROWING MATCHES TO GIVE THE WRONG IMAGE AND LULL OUR ENEMIES INTO THEIR C GAME.

THIS IS ALL PART OF OUR MASTER PLAN TO WIN THE NEXT ALLIANCE TOURNAMENT.

BUT NOW THE SECRET IS OUT WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR STRATEGY.

For those of you who plan to watch the Fanfest stream, keep an eye on it around 1800 tomorrow, maybe a few minutes before/after. I'm tentatively scheduled to be interviewed on EVE TV just before the DUST keynote, and will hopefully be able to give everyone some more insight into the SCL as well as putting a face to the voice!
