Killmails and booster alts

I think a booster alt should be recorded on kill mails as a participant in the kill and it should show the boost or advantage that was given. Its a cop out today for people to claim "solo" but have boosters cloaked in system giving them advantage over truly solo pilots. And yes I know that would give away who's alts are related to who's mains. That's the point.

I know this will get a lot of hate, that's fine. The hate is going to come from those that cant get kills without their boosters anyway.

I don't see why everybody is so worried about killmails.

Just remove them from the game and we won't have dumb whine posts.

Actually its not the killmail I really care about. Its the fuc*in booster alts that give unfair advantage that need to be addressed. I heard that CCP is moving to require booster alts on grid

The pilots won't stop using them if they suddenly appear on killmails.

And if OGBs are removed, just expect them to bring a falcon alt or some other type of alt that will make them win anyways. Or they will just start blobbing.

OGB are on CCP's target list. CCP Fozzie hates them. They have hinted at T3 and command ship changes that they want to do in a blog already. By the time you got them 'added' to killmails they would probably be gone anyways.

Go to Sahtogas. Go to Kamela. Look at the Amarr comments in local over time. OGB are used by both sides. It isn't limited to one side of the conflict.

This... I would love to see the abililty to OPTIONALLY send a killmail out when you're killed, just to annoy the KM wh0res as much as possible.

And wtf do you (OP) care who the booster was? If they're doing it right you will never be able to get them anyway, so wtf?

Friggin' whiners.... almost as bad as the high sec miners and the cloaky afk whiners. You don't like the game? Leave. More space for the rest of us.

I like killmails, and i use a booster alt. I have no problem with a booster alt appearing on my mails. Then, its pretty obvious when i go brawling 2 thrashers against 1 thrasher and still come out on top. The sort of intelligence required to put 1&1 together used to be a part of this game, now people just want things spelled out for them.

I can live with that.

Actually, many would. A t1 frigate vs t1 frigate kill is worth 20 points on BC. A frigate + loki vs frigate would be worth something like 2-5 points.

Yes let's make more valuable intelligence easily accessible just by visiting a third party website. Because the meta-game isn't all pervasive enough as it is.

That does not take long to figure out when you do proper research. When i move in on a new area, i sometimes spend days just sitting there cloaked, watching who tends to fly what and how groups react in fights. Making mental notes about recon and link pilots is very useful.

Aside form a bit of metagaming, you can learn the popular fits of ships and their attributes. You can test the waters before committing to a fight and quickly see if they are boosted by their speed and engagement range.

Never going to happen, the outrage would sink CCP.

I do recall when killboards very very few and far between - I lived in a low-sec system and patrolled it with a Cruiser.

Plain old T1 cruiser. I got fights nearly every day from solo frigs, destroyers, cruisers, the ocational BC, etc. as well as a few 2v1 using similar ships. It was awesome. Beyond the need to replace a lost ship once in a while the combat was flowing on a steady rate.

Today everyone has a KB, and we all know how that ended up - the stats on it dictates what players do. I think it's amazing how we enslaved ourselves and our game-play to such a thing as positive/negative metric of "success" but let's be honest here - everyone wants to be winners, none wants to be losers. And then, when everyone defines "winner" as "best KB stats"?

We most definitely need booster bonuses and things like Remote Repair to show up on kill an loss mails. It would help give clearer pictures of what happened in fights and it would credit the boosters/logistics pilots beyond sticking some drones on the kill to whore on them.

Killboards already give you a huge source of intel on anything anyway. What do people usually fly, when, where, along with who, fitted how, killing who and so on and so forth.

Adding who boosts them and who reps them will help out if only because it will be easier to set standings towards these toons and/or taking note of when they are around. It might not stop their use, but it makes things more clear to those who wish to know such things.

It detracts nothing, and adds better intel and more fair treatment of those involved - provided ofc that the boosters/logis are actually people and give a damn about their participation and KB stats.

Sounds like someone's either too poor to buy one or too lazy to train one.

So instead we should go to the forums and cry about how unfair they are right?

Yeah cos having to pay for or grind isk to have a second account is how you should play any online game right!

Or you could grind isk and use that..... isk is stupid easy to get in this game if you have even half a working brain.

Simple fact - you play longer, you get more resources. You then use those resources to roflstomp the new, the
stupid, the bad, and/or the poor. That's no different than any other MMO.

But I get it, putting in some extra effort is hard. So CCP should hold your hand and make it better.

LOL I've been playing eve since day one of release. Trust me isk is not an issue.

It's sad that you feel you need to pay for/grind isk to have two accounts just so you can feel competative. Awww poor baby.

You just keep trying to justify the 'requirement' of an alt/booster to yourself mate.

Meanwhile I"ll be out shooting **** and getting blown up with a big grin on my face. Lol

Funny, you never complained about OGB'ing back when several of RIFTA's killboard leaders never flew without them.
(No, not KM or MB)

And I never said it was a requirement... there's alot of people who don't have them and do just fine. I'm just tired of seeing
baddies like the OP whining about them. Use them, don't use them, who cares? You win some, you lose some. To someone with 2 or 3 million skill points, a player with 60 or 100M SP might as well be flying with a booster even if they aren't. If you really care that much, go get your own - or stop coming to the forums making pointless whine threads about it. Adapt & overcome, or GTFO.

Hmmm.....There were only a couple of guys I used to know/fly with in R1fta who actively used boosts and they used to pull off some insane stuff with them. And tbh I never flown with OGB until I joined the Amarr milita but I'm pretty sure I've not a 'complainer'. I actually like it when people feel they have to bring OGB's to fight me as it strokes my e-honor to full hardness Shocked

And I'm pretty sure that my general posting philosophy on the forums is just as you have stated 'adapt or die'

I assumed (wrongly it seems) that you were one of the 'elite pro SOLO pvp'ers' who can't operate without an OGB. I appologise to such an assumption.

I however don't agree that SP makes that much of a difference as in reality you can only apply a max number of SP to any specific ship/fit you are flying so the extra SP is wasted on the old toons. R1fta and now R1der are pretty much proving this day in day out by just doing what they do. Twisted

Have you ever thought that it is ment to work like that, gang boosters are for to give advantage that is why you should use those too.

Gang boosting has been in game as long as i have played (about 7 years) so if you do not have gang booster you are doing something wrong.
