Not only vote, but do some research on who you're voting for. It's pretty common knowledge that Goons are scammers and griefers, yet it was the ENTIRE PLAYERBASE that allowed The Mittani or any other CSM people taking issue with to be elected.

I'd really like to know how many of the carebears crying epic tears on the forums right now didn't even vote in the last CSM elections. My guess would be lots of them didn't vote.

Next time there are elections, maybe people will take it more seriously. The Goons alone control a significant amount of votes, and it will take a concerted effort from the ENTIRE COMMUNITY to ensure they don't elect another CSM from their own ranks next time around.

Before you start blaming Mittani for being himself and representing the Goons that elected him, you should look to yourselves for blame if you didn't vote in the first place.

On a personal note, I have no problem with what Mittani or any other CSM does, as long as they are not using exclusive information gained from CCP meetings for their own personal gain. As long as they're abiding by the same rules as the rest of us, they can scam and grief as they see fit, and it's nobody's fault but the community's for allowing them to be elected.

Is this when CSM is a toothless, impotent waste of CCPs dev dollars, or this week when CSM is an insidious group of insiders, conniving with Devs to bring the game down?

I can't keep up. Maybe CCP should put on the login message which way the wind is blowing each week.

I see the CSM as elected lobbyists. We put them in office so they can try and convince CCP to do things the community wants done and CCP agrees to meet with them. Just because you have lobbyists, doesn't mean the powers that be are going to listen to them.

As such, this last CSM kept pushing nullsec agendas while the game hit the skids badly enough that CCP stepped up and agreed to fix things. I really grant zero credit to the CSM on pushing issues forward that the community as a whole wants looked at but they did keep pushing their nullsec agenda.

I'm also not really concerned about their feelings on the matter. By now - "thick skinned" with respect to what can be said about them from anyone in the community - "armor plated" is probably more accurate.

We'll just wait and see what happens with the next election cycle. I've a hunch a lot of people are going to be voting and 80% highsec? Yeah, there will probably be some radical changes to the CSM - maybe folks won't go "WTF? wormhole ores?!?!? Where the hell did that come from?" and the like.

As the OP stated - folks need to get out and vote or we will see more specialty interest groups trying to get their agenda prioritized by "the lobbyists" we call the CSM.
