Saving a Ship's Fitting

I do not know if this is at all possible, but is it possible to save a certain ships fittings so that you do not have to fit/unfit every single mission - I know that every mission will be different and that a certain module or fitting would not however be best for every situation.

Do experienced pilots leave the ships fitted in their hangers and maybe rename them ect. Mining vessel 1 or Close quarters ship I ?
So far the tutorials have been great.

There's an option to save and load fits in the fitting window, you may have the side hidden.

Once you start putting specialized rigs on a ship, it's usually easier to just buy a second ship if you need to put mods and weapons on it that do not compliment those rigs. It all depends on how much trouble it is to keep shuffling things around compared to how fast you can earn the money to buy it.

After awhile, you will end up with a million different ships in your hanger anyway.

Not loads more....but LOADS more.

I think my avg character has about 15 to 20 different ships.

Another cool thing is that any ship you lose is a permanently saved fitting that can be accessed through your combat log.

You are in RvB, you should lose more than 20 ships per day. :D

Rename them yes, but not like that. DScan shows ship names and types, you typically don't want to give away info for free. Now a Mackinaw is pretty obviously a mining ship by it's type (unless it's bait or a battle barge), but for other ships you don't want to name them according to what they do. Calling a Vexor 'Shields with autocannons' is just making your opponents' lives easier (unless it's not a shield brawler at all)

Tip...rename all your ships to: Mangala Solaris's Ibis

I will ensure you, nobody will be hunting you Twisted

Thank you for the advice....I can see that there is so much more than what's in the tutorials....different menus and sub menus with their own sub menus and so on.

So this is probably what I'm supposed to do when I'm waiting for a "Job" to finish.....play around in the menus and read the forum.

All seems so overwhelming and exciting at the same time.
