simple thing to do, dont vote, screw the CSM PR squad., they wont help YOU anyway

Best way to vote in any game, is with money. If you dont like something, stop giving money.

Any way for those of us wishes to opt-out on getting this kind of nonsense? The only time I have ever considered the CSM to be relevant was to bash some ******* reality into the CCP's collective of supreme daftness during monoclegate and the $1000 designer jeans debacle.

I understand this is very important to some of you but to me, EVE is just that, a game and I really have no interest in the CSM.

I hope CCP enforces Compulsory Sufferage for CSM9 and when you all rage about it I'll collect your tears & savour their sweet sweet taste Big smile

Oh yes I forgot to say if any1 quits due to this mass evemail CAN I HAZ YOUR STUFFS?

CCP wants to engage people on the subject of CSM but whether you vote or not is your choice. I am not voting because I don't need catering to.

I'd happily give you my stuff but since I am in a wormhole alliance, it is gonna be in a wormhole and if you want it, you have to get it out on your own which means leaving hisec.

What a complete fail of a thread.

One mail does not equal spam. I'm pretty sure thats obvious to everyone.

I, for one, welcome spam mails from CCP, and hope to see more in the future!

Of course sending unsolicited mail to 250,000 accounts is spam. If i sent out mail to everyone it would be spam. If i sent out mail to everyone telling them to vote it would still be spam. The mass mailing of unsolicited crap is what makes it spam.

Haha, not really. It would be like having an email account for two years that just sits there, completely free of all emails (I'm pretty sure, an impossible feat!). Then you get a single email from the people running the account. What this email says doesn't matter, nor does it that everyone else who owns an account with the same guys gets one too. What matters is that you've only got a single email. This definately doesn't consitute spam.

I for one, recieve crap loads of spam to my email account. I've had ones in the past that fill up so fast, and so continiously, that they had to be shot in the head and put down. Now, thats spam!

Seriously, people will moan about anything won't they? I for one welcome CCP to mail me, whenever they like!

I might even like them spamming me. Cool

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

the funny thing is, some of the links didn't even work.

Come on CCP Dolan you can do better than that.

I clicked on one link, got a 404, looked at the address it had http:// twice. laughed, deleted the email.

They are not proficient at spamming people. Personally I think that is a good thing, I don't log in to find my inbox full of crap.

For things like the CSM it is fine.

But one comment for CCP, we have RPers in this game, next time try to frame it for them. In character.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Get over yourself or quit if it upsets you.

I think it is actually closer to 2 years, iirc.

Yes, the CSM team of Xhagen and Dolan sent a mail to all active accounts today and this will be the only one you receive from CCP. The CSM are such an important conduit to the devleopers and producers in CCP and we want to ensure that you all have the option to get your candidate of choice elected and representing you.

Any unsolicited mail is considered spam, a way to opt out of future spam would be appreciated ;)

I already had to unsubscribe from the constant DUST spam aswell >.>

I have like 20 active accounts currently. However, I received the mail only on excactly one character. Did someone else with many accounts notice the same thing?

So far I have only received one mail despite multiple accounts (with different contact email addresses)

My mailbox's blink so much I only check the mails once a week or so.

Personally I would love to see the mail box split into 2 icons, one for corp/alliance and the other for personal.

spam: Send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.

It does not matter how many messages a person receives but how many messages were sent. This definitely does constitute spam.

Whiner.

Have some spam in your thread.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Regardless, would you rather have people vote or not get ONE SINGLE EMAIL. No matter what way you argue it, you are still going to come across as a whiner for the sake of whining. If CCP spammed me 1000 emails over the last month about voting for the CSM, then I'd be joining you in complaining in this thread, but for one email, man you need to log out more often and figure out what is more important in life.

You're missing the other part of the definition - that the message must be indiscriminate. There was nothing indiscriminate about this mass-mailing. It was targetted to a specific audience, and delivered with a specific purpose as part of a legitimate function of the games company and specific game to which you subscribe.

Therefore: Not spam.

Correct lable: Mass Mailing. Small difference, I know, but an important distinction none-the-less.

My mail said... from: CCP Games to: CCP Dolan... WTF?

It wasn't a personal letter, just junk mail spat out by a machineSad

I understand Navi. CCP is very busy and can't possibly listen to all of it's customers, so a elected Customer Service Mob is a convenient loophole.

You don't want someone that represents me

Trust me on that
