Yes alt as in on another account.

Ok putting carebear aspect aside, i know the good reasons to have an alt if your a miner, mission runner etc.

A perfect alt would technically be a char that totally compliments your main, correct?
Stuff you don't necessary want to waste the time training on your main right away, things like -
Scanning / Probing
Covert Ops - Scout / Bomber if wanted
Cynos
Possibly a hauler (Transport ships)

But my issue is i always end up training my alts starting off in that direction (i have been playing for almost 10 years now, i train them up, realize i just ended up training them as a "Second PvPer" and never end up using them afterwards, because id rather do all PvP with, well my Main PvPer.

What else would you train your alt up for? Do you end up branching off into industry mode? Or go into combat to run sanctums / wh etc?

PVPers : Whats your alts main focus is what im getting at.

ok, I have 3 accounts. They are starting to overlap a LOT, but my true non-pvp guy is still mostly industrial

1st account (Me) was a missioner. Went straight for a mission BS and then started pirateing from BS platforms.
Next was Capital ships and all the Drones and such that goes with that. At first I was Caldari and Missile focused.... but that was long ago.

2nd Account.
I wanted just the opposite of Paine, so I stayed sub-cap, and basicly sub-BS for many years.
BC-V
Command Ships V
All the Cruisers
All the T2 Varients
All the Gunnery
I really liked Recons and that's what that pilot does a lot. But of course.. He eventually did get the BS as well and thats when the overlaps began.

3rd account
Had my first Blockade runner there, First Iteron V. First Freighter, etc.
Max Leaderships
Max Corp/Alliance skills
Max Trade Skills
I did invention, manufacturing, station trading, etc.
I can mine with the best of them if I wanted to.

What I like about 3 different carear paths is: It lets me log in and do something completely different any time I want.
And in 3 years, it felt like I had 9 years worth of character ability.
The more I played, the easier it was to train them differently. But the early years were where it was most (Whats the word?) Valuable/Fun.

My first account (PvE) became my 'second' account when I started up this PvP character. Much more fun but doesn't pay quite as well as C3 wormholes. I also use several markets characters scattered about the galaxy.

The answer depends on whether you need to retain the PvE services of your main. If so it can be sensible to have parallel PvE and PvP paths.
