Twitchtv & Fanfest 2013 on Mac?

I am interested in getting the CCP Fanfest Live stream which is offered on the Twitchtv site but concerned as I can not view any of the content on Twitchtv web site now and for the past couple of months when trying.


When trying to view any content, either the stream or video content on the CCP section and indeed any content on Twitchtv web site, I just get a blank yellow or black video window which shows the Adobe Flash Plugin menu via right click but no video or audio.

For reference the CCP page is here;

This is on an iMac with latest OS X (10.8.3) and downloaded and use the latest Adobe Flash Player (Plug-in version 11.6.602.180 is installed.)

I have the Firewall turned off and also disabled Glimmer Blocker ad blocker. I have no other ad blocking or virus apps etc. Also tried the various settings in Flash Player settings to Allow for Twitchtv but no help.

I am able to view YouTube video without issue and other Flash content so it does work, just not on Twitchtv.

A while ago I tried to get some support from Twitchtv web site which is a not very easy but have received no response on my query about their service and Mac users.

This is using Safari (latest Version 6.0.3 (8536.28.10) with Java & javascript enabled. I also tried with the latest Firefox but this does not work either.

I downloaded the latest Java 7 with plugin in case this was an issue as I see the chat window which is javascript just spinning a wheel and no chat either. But no difference.

Can other Mac users view the streams and video on the Twitchtv site? If so can you confirm your setup or something I am missing.

If not, it looks a potential issue for those wishing to watch the Fanfest live feed and other CCP content as they are moving more to Twitchtv.

Just an update. I was reading through the Twitchtv comments and saw a reference to a beta version of their site which does appear to work via Mac/ Safari, where the normal one doesn't. The CCP page link is;

I can view the streams, video, here audio and also the chat window appears to work. So, whatever changes they have implemented do work on the Mac.

The only problem is it is a beta and apparently there is no certainty it will be available as noted in this staff post;

I would still like to hear if others can view content on the existing site on a Mac and if so what browser and anything differing from the system details I posted above.

Not sure I want to pay to view with the uncertainty of the beta site not being up 100%.
