WiS? I had no idea? Yes im new to Eve. Sounds like it would be a great added feature at some point in the future. Glad to know that they are working more on ships, space, and the core of the game in general. The fact that so much can be done with it just gives me more incentive to stick around playing it. And the game still hasnt been upgraded to dx11 yet right? Just another thing to look forward to.

There is a fair number of systems that are partially implemented or due for an overhaul which will improve aspects of the current game. They could go back to the earlier style where their stories play a larger part and there is always the opportunity to open at least parts of Joe space.

Avatar gameplay should be a separate, linked game. It's not even the same demographic of players even though there is a bit of overlap.

You are doing the people who actually enjoy EVE a disservice by wanting to joink the EVE development team away for Avatar gameplay. You need a new team to build new games.

1) My like went to Lipbites post and not to the OP. I never said that OP was a good post, you inferred that.

2) Almost every post in favour of WiS deserves a like from my point of view, because it shows that not 100% of eve-players want to be confined to space-ships only.

3) I was not in favour of any avatar gameplay, when CCP first announced they felt they had to add it to the game because it would help making eve more attractive to players who have shown interest in eve but wouldn't subscribe because of "lack of immersion". That logic has always and still is, absolutely wrong.

4) There will always be analysts, journalists, commentators, forum warriors argueing about what a game should or shouldn't do in order to be successful. Also the measure for this "success" will be argued about, since: "15 million wow players can't be wrong". In the same line you have the "you can't punish players by removing their assets when they die" (works fine for EVE), "you can't have players not respawn in a FPS" (works fine for Counter-Strike) ...

Please don't join that crowd by saying that we don't need WiS. We may not need it now (nao!) ... but it would expand eve and take it to a whole new level (if done correctly).

5) How long have you been around to be thinking that EVE is only about spaceships ? Back in 2006, when I joined, EVE was a living and breathing Sci-Fi universe where everything was possible as long as CCP would get enough time to code it. Back then we were looking at Fanfest presentations of atmospheric flight (which got shelved for EVE, but somehow survived as DUST514).

Back then, the forum had this place called 'The drawing board'. It announced faction warfare, years before CCP finally got a hold on how they wanted it to be implemented. It was clear that CCP had huge plans for EVE, things that seemed impossible back when 600 players on grid and fighting would crash a node and Jita was capped at 800 players. We have come a long way, but there is still so much to do.

Don't restrict this universe to just the spaceships.

i'm not a computer science phd or anything, but how hard is it to let a little computer man walk around in a 3d game, it's not like we're in still in the days of tetris or anything

What happened with new dock animation..i guess it is too hard to show that repair drones for every single model in game or something..it kinda died as fast as it came to my attention any words from ccp?\\

I consider that small budge in wis taking the right direction..option to walk up to the ship via cq to dry dock would be ok_ish even it is filled only with npc workers and vehicles,it would still be something to keep wis rolling until they come up with non-gpu melting game play.
