Hi!

We will be holding a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, April 11th, at 19:00 UTC (= EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
  • Graphical upgrades for capitals, drones, hangars, cyno jump-in effect

How to connect to Singularity for this test:

Test steps:

  • Meet in FD-MLJ
  • Sub-capitals: Jump to X-BV98
  • Capitals: Jump to X-BV98
  • Warp to POS and kill the tower
  • All sub-capitals: Jump to Poitot and warp to planet 1
  • Capitals: Jump to Poitot (directly to planet 1)
  • Short drone fight
  • Fleet W: Jump to X-BV98 and prepare gate camp
  • Fleet X: Jump into the gate-camp and fight

What else should I know?
  • We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme for this
  • Please bring a good mix of ships, with a focus on capitals and drones!
  • Super-capitals have been added to the redeeming system on Sisi
  • Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
  • The server population will be capped to avoid too heavy time dilation, make sure to log in early enough.

Is this only for cap pilots to test some functionality, or are we all invited?

while (CurrentSelectedTarget.Status == ShipStatus.Alive) {

     _myShip.FireAllGuns(CurrentSelectedTarget);

}

I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet, have you changed cyno jump-in effects or are we talking about backdoor changes ?

Is the usual time of 1900 UTC ever going to change? That's 2pm on a school/work day for everyone in North America.

Yes, activations will happen before the mass test, but it is still not sure, if it will done by the automatic script (or through the old process).

Not likely, as it's really the CCP employees that are the important ones, not the random testers.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

There are mainly two sides to it:
1. Number of players, who would join the mass test - this is at peak around 20:00 UTC (compare with the population on TQ)
2. Devs, which are needed for the mass test - the afternoon would be better, but 19:00 or 20:00 is still ok. Later than 20:00 gets very difficult. For me personally 21:00 is still ok - but then i would probably have to run the mass test alone. Mass tests during the weekend have the same problem (but very seldom we had mass tests during the weekend).

Is this to test out how many crashes your new 'upgrades' cause b/c of ram leaks ect? Please note, 4gigs of ram is NOT an acceptable amount per client in a fleet fight. That might save you some trouble.

Are we going to need skills for cap ships and / or cynos, or will we still have a purpose in the test if we don't have any related skills?

A good chunk on Sisi/Tq's players are under the age of 18. Which means they are still in school. Now most people that live on the western coast won't ever be able to attend one, but for those who live on Eastern and Central time zones we can manage, although 19:00 is almost impossible. Schools get out around 3 ish, or 20:00 EvE time. If mass tests could be moved to just 20:30 or something like that. 21:00 is probably best. The later you go, the more people will show.

The supers will rise again!
