amarr is the armor tank of armor tanks...gallente reps what little it has via bonuses, we pack it on and stick resists on it. now yer taking one of the geddons strong points? ok, so it gets a little more armor, and bad ass drone bonus, and long range neuts, and the choice between my mega pulse and torps, and more armor, and a bad ass drone bonus...

that barely makes up for the loss of the low.

ima let it slide this time, but just so u know...im watching you guys.

(on a side note, these are bad ass changes. i love all of them but the caldari. i dont really fly caldari much and havent spent much time going over them. i really dont have an opinion).

Scary until I EFT the specifics. The navy variant will still work, but if these changes are mirrored on that balance pass pulse damage projection to 90km+ with Scorch will be out. It's nice to see Beams will be more fittable, but Tachyons at that range don't have the same punch (mostly because Scorch is so good).

That said, the theoretical meta for Lasers was always their cap use and the cap use bonus basically just negated that so this will add some flavor (even if it means I end up switching to hybrids or something).

Looks interesting otherwise. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can build with the new geddon.


A single T2 cap use rig pretty much solves this issue and can be produced very cheap if done personally. This is a massive buff and hilariously awesome.

I agree, it needs adjustments done to base cap to balance this out properly.

use some TEs. With the tracking bonuses it will be plenty, even after they are nerfed.

Precisely, lasers need cap, and not only did you get rid of the hull cap boost, but you also made it so that the cap recharges slower, huge issue in my book.

Is it really classed as balancing if every ship is made to be more or less the same but with a different name and hull design? from these changes, i do not see things going well for my beloved (yet hated by ccp) caldari battleships. i suppose the raven is going to become a rail boat?

Big question (as I don't see a general thread on resist bonuses) - Are you going to apply this resist bonus paradigm into other ship sizes both above and below BS size? I ask this because the Drake and Prophecy are tremendously popular and powerful with the 5% bonus. If only the BS line is getting the resist bonus nerf then the resist bonused BCs will gain again in utility and popularity. And I thought there was an attempt to make BSs worth more in relation to BCs.

As to the Abaddon specifically, why have you made/left it such a fat cow? It appears to have the slowest align time. That will only get worse once buffer plated and rigged. And since the tank is being reduced it makes this ship less desirable in relation to BCs of all kind.

Geddon is the easy-mode counter to every hull in the game that uses energy for dps and has a range of less than 36 km.

As a matter of fact, that function exists. Click on the little yellow/orange down-pointing arrow on the left side of the characters name. In the resulting menu choose 'Hide Posts'. You will never see a post of that character again. ISD Ezwal.

Not bad, but.
WHY nerf the abaddon? it was one of the only BS working well in the actual fleet PVP.
There are lot of ship whith better tank already, like tech3, or CS like the absolution. So WHY nerfing the armor resist of the abaddon? i never hear ppl complain about the resist of the abaddon.
You want everybody in alphafleet or what?

Oh man, I'm kinda bummed by the Geddon change. Know what would have been baller?
Abaddon: Damage+Resists (For tank'n'spank)
Apoc: Optimal+Damage (For damage at range, built in giant sized capacitor)
Geddon: ROF+Tracking (For truly ganky, maybe add an 8th turret if you wanna get really baller with it)

Ah well, I'm sure you've got more of a vision and plan than I do. :(

Are there changes coming on how much CAP the Large Lasers take?
The apoc used to be a really fun PVE ship since you didn't HAVE to use a stupid cap booster.
Now with the bonus gone you'll either have to lose a crapton of DPS by fitting more cap rechargers or fit that stupid cap booster again.

Please rethink taking away the bonuses

These changes look highly interesting.

They also make me strongly suspect that changes are coming to:

Laser cap use.
Beam lasers in general.
NOS are going to be made a bit more viable.

Foxcat Supremacy 2013, this is going to firmly put the nail in the coffin of small sig doctrines like T3s and AHacs since the Foxcat fit that already eats them is gettting (provided the navy varient has the new bonus as well) a 37.5% bonus to tracking.

I'm also excited for when our Talwars start alphaing the freshly nerfed FA Abbadons. :D
