And yes, still play, though not nearly as much as I could. I log in, and mostly play the market, make some more billions (for whatever for I dunno). I have more than I'll ever want to spend, but it does appeal to my trader roots.

Yup same type here .

Just playing markets and doing a bit of research to keep me occupied in eve while playing other games too these days.Did everything but wormholes and PI , dunno why but it never appealed to me to live in a wormhole and for PI the markets are a better , faster and less brainkilling thingy to make isk so never tried it and prob never will.

Made a load of friends along the way lost about that same load over the last 5 or so years.Active old mates i can count on one hand now.Logical though a shame it is but you meet new people and make new friends.Though as with bitter vet sentiment it is not the same , you can't enjoy being a noob together any more with those friends as in the old days Blink.

What i liked most?Trade because it's something that for some reason works for me , pirating is a load of fun but only for a few months and nullsec allways appeals to me.Though i do prefer npc nullsec these days because the ''attitude'' of most big null blocks is just awfull in general.

It's changed over 10 years that's for sure and yup it became more flufffy but mostly null become more fluffy then i remember in the old days though ironically enough they are the one complaining about risk vs rewrd now.Go figure ....

EVE is a rather boring game if you play it alone, it's the social aspect that makes it so much fun.

So I understand that you, OP, have your own corp where everyone is a specialist alt of yours. Well, congratulation, by filling all of the vital positions with your own alts, you have achieved 100% control and have become completely immune to betrayal and scams within your own corp.
And now you realize how boring EVE has become for you, and maybe you see why CCP wants EVE to be a cold, harsh and merciless place where you can trust no one and deceit is around every corner.
Absolute safety is boring and kills all the fun, no matter if you are a highsec miner or a pirate.

For me personally RvB helped overcome a big chunk of the bitterness, but I reckon that this play style is not for everyone...

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I'am not at 10 yet, but i also found myself a little burned out of eve.
But i found something interesting for it, i start out with a new alt once in a will.
And play a completely new profession in eve, where you have little knowledge about.
I hope that cpp will ad some extra content to the game to make the game even more diverse.

My 10 year EVE anniversary is fast approaching. Over the last couple of years my general participation in EVE has steadily declined. Why? I'm not really sure, but I think I've discovered that I'm more of a 'social' gamer than I realized; by that I mean I would rather play with friends or others than by myself, but this is pretty much a necessity in EVE anyway. That being said, my normal 'troop' has more or less been inactive, so this is probably why I don't play much anymore.

Having been in EVE for so long, I think it's fair to say I've done pretty much everything. I started out mining, got into PvP, did some 0.0 stuff back in the day and remember shitting a brick when Lord Zap popped up in MN5N-X local where we were mining, faction warfare, incursions, wormholes, POS babysitting (eww), complexes... the list goes on. For the past 4 or 5 years I've basically been a full-time pirate with supporting characters - hauler alt, market alt, mission alt, etc. Piracy is awesome and I encourage you to extract tears at some point in your career, but it's me, myself and I...no go.

So I pose a question: what have you had the MOST fun doing in EVE? Tell me your EVE profession, a nice little anecdote, whatever. I'm just looking for something different to try, some new friends to make. It'll be interesting to see people's suggestions and stories.

Guns blazing,
- Kojee

Hisec piracy has been the most enjoyable. I have a tale or two to tell.

I to would love to see the mini professions fleshed out a bit more, and maybe more professions created. For just this reason, to give players new options to explore that are a bit separate from what they have done with their main. As things stand right now much of the game can be fused into a whole, and having an understanding of that the whole is (most times) more valuable than developing a specialty.

I think for the sandbox to feel truly expansive and to have unlimited options that specialties should exist in a way that makes them independently sustainable. Requireing only a cursory knowledge of the others. We sort of have this now, you can indeed make a career of scanning or salvaging, but those paths could have a little more depth and definition.

I often find myself here. Not sure what to do about it. to this point I keep in touch with a few people but move on as far as activities. Its funny we seem to run into each other on occasion even after divergence.

I've been trying to quit EVE since 2009 and I'm even terrible at that. I've filled the past few years with helping upstarts and active newbies giving them advice, tutoring, joining their corp on an alt to help organise and make stuff happen. Not so much financial help as such but rather providing assets and my time ofcourse. Seeing a group of newbies actually grow into a decent entity, preparing them for EVE itself, wars or hostile space is quite fun.

My main/actual characters hardly ever log in or undock though.

For some reason this makes me think that if we actually were immortal what would we do with ourselves at some point a couple hundred years down the road when we have done everything and have more wealth than we ever want too spend.

I have quit. For 3 months. Once. Eve was the first MMO I got truly engaged in, but at that time I was bored with it and tried some crappy F2P MMO's from Steam. Well, after a few months I simply craved some space opera drama and explosions again, and to be frank: some quality too! I got back into Eve, changed my playstyle, and haven't taken any breaks apart from the usual IRL shtuff such as vacations yet. I'm sure at some point boredom will set it. I take it as having reached competence in the activities I was engaged in. A good time to change things up a little.
