ECCM and NPC Jamming

Do ECCM modules help against NPC (Gurista) jamming, or are they a waste in PvE?

Did a Google search but only came up with old threads from a couple years ago which had mixed opinions.

ECCM does help and if you have a free slot for it (like a low on a Raven hull) then by all means fit one. Thing is that ECM is chance based so adding ECCM doesn't remove the chance of being jammed it just lowers it. It's also one of the reasons why a Golem is more annoying to use than other raven hulls; low sensor strength.

When a blob jams you, will an ECCM help? There's your answer.

It has to do with rat ewar not weakened compared to player ewar, the way their dps is.

Had a ECCM mod on a Tengu for ratting in null. Almost never jammed. Its worth it in that scenario.

In some missions you really need ECCM or it will really hurt your mission times, but it's usually very tolerable with a BS + 1 ECCM.

It does help, but your best bet is still to use an Ishtar. Identifying jammers and killing them first is important as well.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Depends on the mission or whatever you run as not every rat out there has EWAR installed.

OT: Fitting ECCM helped me a lot, turning permajamming into "maybe being jammed once/twice". Then in some missions rats stopped jamming altogether (ECCM or not), but that's another story...

Oh, and don't forget sensor compensation skills.
