What else do you use the autopilot for, to sit there and gawp at it doing all the work for you?

maybe if it played the frikkin blue danube for me that would be worthwhile. otherwise automating tasks slower than i can mnage myself is not what i would call a selling feature.

Yeah it just makes autopilot completely unusable for slowboats. what's the point of it?

It isn't "completely unusuable".

try autopiloting 10 jumps in a dominix navy issue and tell me it's not tedious.

LOL.. so your actually saying your sitting infront of your screen watching your ship on autopilot? Lol

I'm just asking, since CCP's been removing (albeit slowly) unnecessary bullshit from the game which players have to deal with, not adding it.

Why are you still here then? Lol

Good thing autopiloting isn't a selling feature.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

Travel is a timesink in EvE. Much like taking the gryphons in other games. Can literally make dinner, and by the time you arrive, be ready to sit down to eat it. Ugh

But this is a PvP game, so the "danger" and "risk" has to be travel (despite the only risk in it in EvE is when arriving to a gate).

Wrong. The time you spend aligning on the ingate is just as bad for you as the minor 15km trek is.

But if that's such a worry, don't autopilot, then.

I don't, thanks.

also, it does not take me two minutes to align a battleship. it doesn't take 20 seconds to align a batleship.

If you think that you're "safe" just because , you're not. If we want you dead, you'll end up dead, and catching you on the ingate (as opposed to on the way to the outgate) makes no difference.

no, i don't imagine I'm safe because my align time to the next gate is relatively short compared to slowboating it to the previous one. I feel safe because I'm in a T2 fit battleship and thus no profit is to be had from ganking it.

And if as you say, players are no safer warping to 0, there seems little reason to the inconsistency of the tool compared to manually jumping. it's just there to enable AFK play.

Yes, it is. And AFK play shouldn't be rewarded with being just as efficient as manual flying, hence the 15km distance to travel.

well I don't really see why anyone not at their keyboard would care about travel time.

but it's nice that they nerfed it for everyone else.

This post makes no sense.

So rewrite it so it makes sense. "nerfed it for everyone else"? everyone else who? everyone else who wants to use the autopilot? That'd be people who are AFK.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

I haven't thought of that part of travelling as a major hassle. If this is what you think of as "a major hassle", then I'd suggest you never get into, well, any part of EVE, because you'll find that travelling isn't the worst "major hassle" you'll encounter.

You've already beaten him. He had no real thought out logic.
He severely struggled in the last few posts already and now he's done for good.

There's no point in going on with this.

god, the misuse of double quotes wasn't quite maddening enough to get a response but then you bumped this wreck of a thread.

if you can't understand that removing midly tedious micromanagement of a function improves the game then I have a suggestion for you. turn off auto-repeat on your modules.

better still break both your thumbs with a mallet.

eve is now much harsher and more difficult. ergo you should be enjoying yourself more and not trying to dial 111 with your nose.

EDIT: please don't break your thumbs with a mallet.
