sad thou less than 20 % of the eligable voters will vote and the rest don't care or don't bother and of those less than 20% voting already being manipulated

in any real world democracy a voter turn out of less than 20 ù makes any election null and void

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

I voted on my main with a measured list based on several advocates
Then voted the first 14 names on my alt.

How screwed up is my alt's vote?

Depends on what the vote is for, whether it achieves quorum and the contentedness of the 80% in terms of anti-vote action.

In the university that I studied in the quorum for the Student's Association was only 150, despite their being about ten thousand people on campus and about as much in distance learning and satellite courses. Despite this the wide body were quite happy about voting that occured, despite there only being about 500 max at one AGM - which was only because Our entire bloc turned up to vote against the senior positions of student councils getting salary increases.

What, in your opinion, is the minimum turnout required?

I did not vote, never seen the point in CSM to be fair, pretty much my view on normal politics, whoever gets voted in will still disappoint me or not affect me at all as CCP would apply changes in line with the general forum masses rather than what the CSM say

No vote, you lose whatever minority voice you might have had in the CSM's leverage. Not a lot perhaps, but a damn-sight more than other MMOs grant.

Like i said in my post the CSM isn't exactly going to revolutionise the game CCP will still roll out what they want its just a pretty way of making out that they listen :P

These days the game is more about getting subscriptions on the table, if that means dumbing down the game and making it safer then they will (and in several instaces have) roll out the changes they see fit

Would you want the CSM to have that much power?

The CSM is what it is. It's not omnipotent, but there's a middle ground between omnipotence and total irrelevence. No other game company engages with the player base at nearly such an involved level. So what's the argument for not getting the most we can out of the opportunity?

True CCO are only choosing 5/7 of it out since only 2 of the 7 icelandic seats are chosen vox populi while the other 5 are at CCP's discretion.

If you are claiming that nullsec poweblocing counts as "rigging" then there are separate issues at hand, mostly to do with yourself and the english language.

Except that there are no 'icelandic' seats now.

I've voted and I spread the word. Picked 14 candidates who have various good approaches and opinions. Thanks to those who run for the CSM and who did in the past.

5. Riverini
6. Trebor
7. Steve Ronuken

Very similar to how I voted, with the exception of Malcanis. He reeks of nullberries.

Yeah. Malcanis comes across as someone from the nullsec block.

Also he is quite fixed on his opinions for the game and will not listen to anyone else without replying with a sarcastic remark. Seeing as the CSM will be a intermediary between the playerbase and CCP for this reason I had to leave him off my ballot. Can't be doing with that attitude for a whole year.

In Soviet Russia the votes own you!

Malcanis wants us to believe he's independent, but his platform looks like a Wal-Mart special. And it's ironic he's stepping in more and more Goonie threads in defense of them too.

Rigged is an understatement.
