I've met so many that have stepped over that spiked line, and have allowed this incredibly entertaining and immersive journey get the best of them, and deprive them from what ultimately should be their reward: a good time.

There is alot of truth and wisdom in Terhiss' words. We all know a few people who play this game too much at the risk of sacrificing real life priorities. One could probably do a documentary on how EVE has ruined the life of quite a few people.

If anyone is interested, there is a documentary on how dangerous and immersive the world of MMO gaming is. Here's the video if you're interested; http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/gamers

Trinket- You have a way with words both on the forums and your blog. I love reading your blog. I wish you the best and glad to see you getting help. It takes courage to acknowledge something that others have probably experienced. Best of luck.

If you ever come back, come over to Gallente and I'd love to share some stories with you over some Quafe

If I forgot to give you a billion ISK because i'm quitting this game, then I apologise. I still have a carrier, 6 fitted BLOPs, 120 fitted ships, 2 or 3 fitted T3's, basically one of each pirate BS, and a couple of tens of billions in assets. Which I admit, is a poor showing compared to some, but there you have it. So if I forgot you in my quitting fire sale, you were obviously too boring or stupid.

I hope that CCP fixes what makes this game so utterly, terrifyingly bad in so many ways, and stops being so stupid (c.f. Dust implementation) because, to be perfectly honest, this game should be so much better than it is, but it's just a horrible pay-to-win by disguise racket populated by trollish children which this company never properly sanctions, and it's cost you US$250 per annum right here, no matter how much you dandy about tweaking around the edges of your real problems.

All this is of course, just so much ddouche-wash from my sandy vajayjay, and I know that some will pat themselves on the back thinking they vanquished me with their horrid trolling. So be it.

Depression got me; don't let EVE or any other MMO substitute for a real life, and seek help. Even if it means getting out of your basement,de-subbing your 6 accounts, and deleting ISBOXER, you feckless man-children.

I'll accept your stuff.

Serious bit:
Lots take eve too seriously.
Have a chill, root stuff until you feel like playing an MMO again, after 10min of trying STO you'll be back in eve.

Never fly with people who think 'Internet spaceships iz serious business' and that makes a big difference to how much you can enjoy this game.

Will miss your funny comments and your column was the best this section of the forums had seen in years.

Honestly, I will miss you a lot Trink.

Some background.

Years ago when I was a fledgling pod pilot, mainly a mission running carebear, my mostly carebear corp teamed up with a group of wonderfully wicked wormhole raiders. They weren't the biggest or baddest bunch out there, but to my newby eyes they were totally badass. Their sometimes leader, a figure of awe to me in my Eve youth, was Trinket's friend, the mad aussie.

He and another schemer got me on my first capital kill;
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/killmail.php?id=10876054
at a time in my eve career when I had never SEEN a dread before (let alone realize that even your T2 elite frigate can't jam a sieged Rev).

I started flying with these insane WH people more and more, and experiencing more and more of the PVP side of Eve.

We sieged and evicted many a carebear corp from WH space together. A highlight of my Eve career will always be when we spent a long night on a mad dash across known and unknown space when a target hired Narwhals to get rid of us, and we crashed static after static, racing their scanners and their T3 fleet, before we were forced out after an amazing battle on the last static high sec we were able to manage before they got in. (You lost an Ishatar, if I remember right, but it was still fun).

Or when I burnt out my launchers on my tengu killing a domi running sites and Khanh'rhh had to bail me out by killing him with a bomber while everyone mocked me on comms:
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=10361561
I still burn out my guns way too often.

I was sad when I saw you joined Minmatar, but always happy to see you in space, even if it was on the other side of a 50 man fleet battle. I still have great memories of our time flying together.

Anyway, Trink, I for one will miss you. Friend or foe, you were a hell of a lot of fun to play this crappy game with. I hope you find happiness and contentment in whatever you do.

Fluffers, what flavour of BLOPS do you fly? Squid, Slave or Frog? Turtle, can you fly a nightmare with C-type MWD and A-type XL booster and navy sinks? I hope Taoist likes his Bhaalgorn and doesn't wuss out and sell it. i even made sure it was in squid space so he could pick it up.

And Zarnak, i hope you can fly a Loki, and aren't RPing Amarr only.

I'll take any caldari ships you have (or any other ship that can be melted down and turned into a caldari one Big smile).

Game gets very stressful and its easy to burn out. highly recomend taking a break if its no longer fun, i did that for a couple months at a time on multiple occasions. I enjoyed your friendly advice column, the part about boosters regarding me made me chuckle. Smile

I forgot. I actually have two carriers. Lol.

See.

ISK is easy to make.

There is a sea of it out there, sloshing about, between carebears buying pimped e-peen chariots and alleged hardcore PVPers trying to keep their killboard stats as pure as possiblevia pimp, boosts and ISBOXINg and being useless douchewads.

On the one hand, people sell PLEX for ISK to fund their e-peen insecurities or invest in ISK making; on the other hand, some spend big in real dollars to compensate for their otherwise feckless, worthless mother's basement dwelling lives by ISBOXING and loki-boosting themselves in their pimped Hookbills. others run corps to scam their members of their tax and use the profits to support empires which do little but support twenty accounts based on daytrading scams; other scam and lie and cheat and betray to get their ISk.

Meanwhile, a guy with level five Tycoon skill (one of only eight, last time I checked) sets up a fully functioning market hub by himself with 239 open market orders, all in one system, by himself, suppplied via a wormhole, and charges a 30% markup, and the ISk flows. Oh, it flows.

And after five years of being the water wheel in this river of ISK, when all is said and done, and the fascination with the dynamics of human intelllect, egoes and vanities dies away and you are left with the realisation that, firstly, you are playing with man-children, in an inherently boring game where excitiment is only provided by the allegedly actual consequences of loss associated with destruction of assets (unlike respawning or matchplay based games), the reality is, you have no assets to lose; for the river of ISk fills your buckets over-ful with minimal efforts, leaving you with over 40 billion ISk while you fly 6 million ISK Vigils and murder pimped e-peen deficient loki-boosted hookbills flown by 3 billion ISK clones.

So.

There you are. I'm only halfway through stripping my toon down to a Vargur and a thousand rounds of ammo, which will be my fallback position in case I wish to restart playing, and already people who I haven't known are coming out of the woodwork to scam me, and I've discovered a Chimera i bought on a whim 3 years ago, lying in Aridia, which I honestly had forgotten about.

And when you can turn up carriers and 3 billion ISk Nightmares you never use....really. You're hardly playing the game.

I don't know you but I just wanted to say your EvE success is impressive, I'd like to achieve a small measure of that myself, and your return to RL is equally impressive, I'd drop EvE in a flash if some of my problems could be resolved.

Finally, your corporation and the look on your face are a great match. Big smile

My suggestion would be to just TRASH it all (except the vargur and 1000 bullets).

I'm not sure how the heck you get rid of money though. lol.

Good luck on all of your real life endeavors, play games casual and for fun.

I am not worried about making billions if I come back. It's easy. A heron, a half dozen core probes, and a venture is all it takes.

Trashing it would be pointless, the only point would be to destroy in-game ISK to reduce mudflation, which is a conceited opinion that whatever any one player aside from Mittens or maybe Chribba has, is in any way significant. I've given stuff to people who will get it blown up because I obviously haven't and won't. You are assuming I assign any value to any of this; I do not. Therefore I am being pragmatic and logical and calculating. People who need pimped POS guns get 250M in shiny laser batteries. People who will die in Rattlers like fools get them.
