There i was in my inventory window in a freight container and I wanted to go back to the main inventory. Years of training on the web have taught me like one of Pavlov's dogs to press the side button on my mouse, so I did, and it worked!

Just one of those little things, that I didn't expect to work that did.


Anyone know of some interesting shortcuts like this?

Hitting ESC lets you exit the game.

And no, I'm not being snarky with that comment: how to exit the game is a fairly common question in the newbie's Help channel.

Here's one that I think eludes a lot of players way longer than it needs to (I didn't figure it out until I was almost a year into the game, heh):

When on the map screen when probing, use the SHIFT and ALT keys while moving your probes around to make the job easier. Holding SHIFT while dragging one probe will move all probes around in their current formation. Holding ALT when dragging one probe will expand or contract the formation around a central point in space.
