Pretending to play when the game does it for you: This is what we have now with local.
See a problem in local? Push the warpy button, and done.

It's like pretending to answer questions on a test, when the answers are all listed for you already.
You can take credit if you like, but everyone knows you made no effort.

I think that the second paragraph says it all, I for one will miss him, I did not know him, but liked his writing style and his approach, but he gets it in a nut shell...

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Blocked: Teckos Pech, Sonya Corvinus, baltec1, Shae Tadaruwa, Wander Prian, Daichi Yamato, Jonah Gravenstein, Merin Ryskin, Linus Gorp

So you admit the game could be better, I dunno, if we actually played it rather than letting it do things for us?

Because I gotta tell ya, gathering intel should be number one on a thinking player's to-do list, and having it take that away from all of us makes me feel like I got locked in a day care.

No sharp objects either, I bet.

I may have the wrong impression, but from what he posted before I think he was saying all intel is somehow bad, not just the free variety.

Maybe it is just the versions where someone collated it, not certain. But I do believe zero progress will occur if we take the all or nothing attitude, and keep ignoring the problem with day-care intel already on everyone's UI by default.
