Just seeing if there are many other wargamers who play eve and if so, what do you play?

I've been playing Dark Eldar for about 14-15 years and just recent started a Warriors of Chaos army for warhammer fantasy.

I played Imperial Guard for a few years, but I recently switched to Necrons. Hordes of tanks are fun, but legions of skeletal warriors who can revive from anything short of a vortex grenade is just too appealing.

Well its not 7 that is giving you issues. I've got DOW and Dark Crusade on all of my systems (via steam) and they all work.

Used to have a mixed IG/space marine army but god damn it was an expensive hobby. I started out with bloodangels but got fed up with them going mad and trying to club a tank too death with a rifle. I'd like to start again because making the army is fun but my wallet screams no.

I've got the retail versions and I have no issues with them either.

Got a really old Space Hulk box laying around somewhere. Used to have both a Chaos and a Tomb Kings army that I sold years and years ago.

I kill kittens, and puppies and bunnies. I maim toddlers and teens and then more.

That's what keeps me out of it currently as well. Well that and I just got bored with it. My friend keeps trying to get me to buy models again but honestly we haven't had a board fight for probably a good 5 years now and I don't expect one to happen any time soon.
I still have some old rpg stuff though. I keep my imperial army on a book self along with my chaos dragon, and the rest of my chaos are buried somewhere in a friends garage. Recently though we were considering the idea of purchasing a 3d printer and trying to make our own kits. I think we figured it would be about $60 to print like 10 tanks which is well under cost. Yeah I know, it cheats the system but what can you say.

I played Spacemarine and squishing Orc's is still a guilty pleasure. Can't remember if I got the 40k kills achievement....

In general I found much of the lore too grim to get into, I like my scifi to be optimistic and give hope for the future. I can't see any silverlinings in WH40k, the Tau were my preferred one when using a borrowed set.

Read the Ciaphas Cain books. its 40k with british humour.

It might be a grim dark future but you can at least enjoy the pleasures in between boughts of aliens trying to murder you.

Anyone else excited by the prospect of Total War 40k now SEGA has the IP from THQ?

It is expensive now unfortunately.. I don't remember it being so expensive when I was a kid and just started playing. I recently spent almost £250 on this new Warriors of Chaos army and some new paints..

It's great fun though if you have a group of mates who play regularly, it makes the cost much more acceptable than if they were just sat in the box/on the shelf...

(Sorry for the lack of pound sign my keyboard doesnt have one)

I remember about 10 years ago when they released the new Cadians you got 20 in a box for 15 quid. Now its 18 for 10. Thats a rise that is well above inflation.

A fried on mine in the states plays a lot and we were helping him build a new IG army. We worked it out that buying the battleforce box and about half a dozen of the 5 pound boxes for the fireteams left enough parts over from the HW teams etc to make a much larger company at a fraction of the cost.

i Still play the 'normal' non fantasy/ sci fi tabletop wargames , mostly ancients , 18 th century war inlace and napoleonic

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

While i'm not 100% certain, I'm going to say this can't be done or we'd have to re-author all the clothes because of their attributes to achieve it, that's a lot of work. Also the clothing models are made specific to gender and race, the avatar would clip through the clothes in a lot of places, it would look terrible.
