I gave up windows along time ago and would hate to have to go back just for a game :) but reading a few recent topics has made the use of boot camp even more appealing..

If anyone knows of a FRAPS equivalent on OS X then you might save me from the shame of buying windows again.. If there isn't then might have to buy WIN7 in my wife's name so no one knows..

As Flextra Aurilen suggests you can do this in Quicktime though it takes some extra steps to record audio also. Details to do this can be found here;

How to record audio from your computer using Quicktime

If this does not suit, a couple of apps to consider would be;

ScreenFlow or Snapz Pro X

Check the comments in Mac Update to get a better idea which might be a better choice for you.

I've had success with ScreenFlick. It's cheap ($29 US), doesn't require you to diddle your audio devices, and doesn't appear to affect my frame rate in the slightest. It's also very easy to use.

There's a demo available, should you want to try before you buy.

I use screenflow 4 for my videos, it lags minimally. I used Quicktime before and that lags WAY too much.

Screenflow! It's $99 but you will NEVER need another video editor again, and it has more features than software 10x it's cost.

To the sounds of it OP is looking for a Freeware Recorder.

Every screen recorder I see is payware. I also ask the question if there is a freeware screen recorder Big smile

BTW: ofc quick time is already on macs but it lags WAY too much to even be usable.
