Wrong on this point. Very wrong.

As soon as we take even one real shot at N. Korea, China will have so many of their planes and troops in N. Korea our American heads won't know what hit us.

To be fair Norrth Korea did declare war earlier today.

I'm not kidding they actually did, but its being treated as NK doing what NK does.

*sigh*

The Korea War never ended. North Korea can say 'state of war' all day long, and it will be exactly no change from the state of play from yesterday.

America cant win a war with china. Hence why republicans are terrified about their rise.

But china is fed up with NK so most likely will not get involved other than trying to get all sides to the table.

That may have been the case with the first Korean War but things have changed since then. The US and the rest of the West are now China's biggest trading partners. The climate is different, Chinese don't "Defect to America" they hop a plane from Beijing to LA and go vacation. China is prospering fast.

The Chinese now are more worried about North Korea then the West. Their politics used to be similar but this is no longer the case. North Korea has sealed its boarders, hundreds of thousands of its citizens are in concentration camps, they have a dynastic rule system and no economy to speak of. China is open to the world in trade, have a balance between free enterprise and the state and even executes less of its citizens then the US. Their government is popular with their people without tons of propaganda and the threat of violence and arrests. China is even doing joint military exercises with the US. The third last thing they want is the world sanctioning their trade and turning away from them, the second last thing they want is a Cold War with the West and the Capitalist East and the last thing they want is nukes landing on Shanghai.

A nuclear North Korea is no longer a strategic ally, it is a weight around their ankles and one they are more then eager to cut off and let sink. The worst case scenario for the Chinese is they start shooting off nukes and start a Nuclear War.

Uhh, I thought NK and SK were always at war? War never stopped, it was only held apart by whatever it was the U.S did.

So what is this, like reaffirming your marriage vows?

The US played a big part in it with 300k troops but the South Koreans doubled that number fought hard and three and a half times more casualties. The Brits sent 14k, the Canadians 8k and Turkey 5k. There were many other members of the UN coalition who sent a couple thousand to help as well. 20 Countries took part.

At first the North took almost the entire South, then the landing at Inchon spurred the Coalition to take the North which is where the Chinese intervened and pushed them back. In the end a stalemate emerged and they signed a Cease Fire Agreement agreeing back on the original partition.

I have seen their war museum exhibits on documentaries and it is surreal. They blame the US entirely for the War and omit that they started it long before the US got involved by a launching full invasion. Ugh

China has contingency plans in the event of a renewed Korean conflict, and they have nothing to do with aiding North Korea in fighting the US and South Korea.

Any Chinese troops that entered North Korea would do so to depose the Kim regime, secure the country, and prevent a refugee crisis from spilling over their borders. More likely they'd first attempt to entice a military coup against the Kim regime. Then they'd set up a puppet state under tight Chinese control.

You're both wrong - China would contain the matter as expediently as possible with US and South Korean blessings.

Yes, I spelled it Partician and it red lined so I hit spell check and grabbed the first result. I meant Partition.

North Korean. They have a very odd alternate history of the war.

The Chinese would probably reckon the USA could not afford World War three with its need to project over the Pacific and into areas China can traverse by land.

Don´t want to sound uncultured and uncivilized, but let me give you a small brief intro.

Where I come from, Venezuela, and to a lesser degree most of Latinamerica, the belief in supernatural forces is strong. So strong several of our presidents have used highly publicized "Witchcraft" Rituals to ensure their stay in power, protection against enemies and on and on. There are parts in my country, that are practically zones given free reign for religous practices most foreigners could consider "Witchcraft".

Like the "Montaña de Sorte" for example. An experience I recommend heartily to the curious and the tourists. Lots of stuff happening there, something to remember even if just for the scenery. I am also "certified" for Tobacco reading and "entierro" spells, in a low grade of cosmic resonance btw Big smile

Back in point, with this already said, there has been a self-titled "Prophet" or "Seer" called Reinaldo dos Santos, that has become quite famous in Venezuela for his "predictions" (all of them 100% accurate so far regarding Venezuela. He has also accurately reported earthquakes in several Latinamerican countries, plus winning sides on presidential races. He´s very accurate, so much so that he caught my eye.

As a man of Behavioral Sciences and love of folklore I have been studying his "works" for the amusement they entail and I have managed to discover something quite interesting.

Beyond the fact he claims he has power, I have noticed this man is a keen researcher in the power of economics and how these forces affect the world, since we are in a tinfoil hat conspiracy thread, please let me add to this, part of his "predictions" for the world.

He says the world will only "end" as we know it, the moment the gasoline Gallon jumps to 7$+ (for us here in the American Continent). He said that this will happen "soon" and that a "war" , a huge war , will be its detonator and the culprit of said increase will be governments trying to exert influence over others. (love this kind of Vague Statements)

So there, yes, the world will END sooon!!!! Big smile

So remember, enjoy life while it lasts. Also check Reinaldo´s facebook page, he has spoken of the future of the world and speaks of a far future War that will destroy a good chunk of Earth´s Population due to Religious Issues, worst than the previous one that was due to Economic issues (oil going up rapidly in price).

If you into conspiracy theories check him, also yes, Nkorea will probably be the detonator of the next oil crisis and further wars.

As a side note I also enjoy apple pie with vanilla Ice cream ... mmmmm so goood!

Any North Korean troops crossing the DMZ would have the fun of dealing with Samsung machine gun sentry robots. Here's a promo video of them in action. The first part is about features like target identification, recognizing voice passwords from friendlies, target tracking, etc. Skip to 2:26 for the mayhem part.

Those things are only good against small units, and would quickly run out of ammo / be flanked / be destroyed by armored fighting systems. Send a couple dozen starving farmers across the DMZ, note all firing positions, engage with artilery / direct fire / what-have-you. These things are NOT going to be anything more than an afterthought in a real full-scale war.

Give them the Crusher. Fully autonomous and mobile. They can be programmed to go wait in one area or to patrol. They have a problem solving AI that calculates the terrain and allows them to figure out the best solution to cross it, a feature that has many times surprised the technicians in it decisions. But having it lay in wait is the scariest part. Once they get to their destination they have the ability to flatten themselves out and shut down all but a few systems, and then they sit there...waiting...never tiring...never getting hungry or distracted...

Well, that's true. Or the entire DMZ may just be one long smoking crater after the first 10 minutes, from air, missile, and artillery strikes. But anyway, South Korea still has SAMSUNG and the cool gizmos edge. And of course Segway shock troops!

my 2p.... it just isnt gonna happen ...NK is just sabre rattling ..probably cos they are running out of food again and want concessions from the UN . china wont involve themselves for the simple reason is that the west and the US in particular owe them sooo much money ! .china must be getting pretty sick and tired of propping up Nk .

so if anything it will probably be china invading the north before the north ever get around invading the south .

its all about the money baby Big smile
