Eve API question

Hey all,

I've just come back to the game after a hiatus. Created new APIs, plugged them into EveMon etc - and the software is not updating, as I'm getting authentication errors.

What am I doing wrong?

Which apis, which EVEMon version, have you checked your proxy settings, what is the EXACT error message?

EveMon 1.8.1.4016 - I originally had updated it, but I also tried a fresh install.

API type - the customised ones. I had some old ones, so I expired/deleted them and created a new 'FullAccess' with a mask of '0'. (Just to be clear, KeyID and vCode).

In the API checker within Evemon itself, if I query using the 'ServerStatus' method, it connects to the API server and receives the correct time. (Connects to https://api.eveonline.com/server/ServerStatus.xml). Other generic stuff I can get, but as soon as I query specialist data about my toon (e.g. contracts, SkilQueue), the API tester doesn't return anything.

Evemon doesn't give me an error message per se, so I installed the 'Aura' android app, and the specific error message that I received from that was 'ApiException - Authentication Failure'.

Yup, I was being a ******* dunce. I misread the logic of the API creation :)

Fact is that when you entered that AccessMask '0' API key in EVEMon, it presented you an informative red warning message saying that this API key doesn't provide any data. But who has time to read nowadays....
