They should give us an option for voting to scrap the csm altogether in the next election.

If that's not included then the usual candidate called "not voting" gets (well doesn't get actually) my vote.

What would be the point in that?

About the same as the point the CSM actually serves now - none.

Obviously, the only choice is the neonazi candidate, because obviously that's exactly the kind of representation we want on the CSM and the kind of influence we want on the game (not to mention, obviously obviously, the kind of outwards imagery we want to evoke)…

Obviously. Lol

A nice initiative but I'm not spending half an hour on a form to help me determine which candidate to vote into a position of no power who best represents my interests.

Miss Universe may hope for peace on earth but she will not be speaking before the United Nations any time soon.

CCP has plans for this game and they will not let our flaky votes get in the way of that.

CSMs purpose are to look pretty for the camera and show symbolic support for the decisions CCP make (or they won't be going to Iceland)

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

You'd be surprised to learn how much influence the CSM has over those plans. But you know, you can keep on being bitter about it.

I believe this is where you're supposed to put forth an example.

So give me an example of something that CCP intended to implement but after conferring with the ESM before implementation the ESM made them either not do it or changed CCPs decision.

I didn't need a site to know Malcanis was going to get my endorsement. Good to see it choose the way I chose.

now to remember to vote Malcanis for #1 slot and everyone in null in every other slot.

Almost as bad as the american elections.

Several years ago CCP considered the idea of 'combat simulators'. The CSM was strongly against it, it's never made it into the game. This idea was actually floated by CCP several times, and shot down several times over the course of the CSM.

In reverse: even though CCP was initially against the idea of a skill queue, the CSM kept pushing for it until eventually convincing CCP to do it.

More recent info (keep in mind I was on CSM1, 3 and 5) on the influence of the CSM can be found here: http://treborofthecsm.blogspot.com/2013/03/2013-csm-odyssey.html?spref=tw

only problem I'm having is that the speech bubbles are all showing as this -- Question

Otherwise, working great Big smile

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Ugh how did that happen - that'll teach me to try and update something at midnight right before going to bed. I'll fix that when I get home!

The CSM is a farce and a public relation tool for CCP¨
aslong less than 25 % of all elegible voters actually vote is will stay that way , not to mention easily manipulated
only thing the candidates are after is a free trip to iceland anything else is irrelevant and even then who in his right mind would want to go there
anyway if there is a option to vote blanc i will otherwise , the CSM elections can go somewhere where the sun doesn't shine

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

You are quite correct; I use the modern sense of the word and base my posting on facts and logic.
