Confirming that I handed out ALOT of these at PAX East today. More too be handed out by myself and CCP Guard over the next 2 days. Stop by our booth or at the Player Meet at Jillians tomorrow for some free spaceships.

Looking at market activity and prices, it's obvious that most of redeem codes handed out to totally random people, maybe not even EVE players.
Not really an effective way to introduce new ships into the game What?

So you're saying they didn't have a machine at the booth that you logged into to earn your redeem code. That they just liberally handed them out!?

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Of course not. Just usual free stuff for random people that you will find on any expo.

It is a good way to get new accounts, hand them to people they have a physical reminder of EVE and might want to try it out.

Of course they aren't really introducing a new ship, as exciting an idea of a cheap Pirate Frigate is for running around I doubt they are adding them on mass. They will be forgotten about in a month and almost never seen after which is sad.

I wish they called the giveaway ones a special issue with a logo or something like the Catalyst, gave them rig slots and T1 Frig stats and then seeded normal ones on mass as Pirate Drops or some such. Keeping their interesting bonuses and gotten them down to a few mil a piece in price so players who want to fly non faction pirate could take them out in numbers. Same with say a Serp Vexor or Gurista Caracal, Blood Omen, Angel Ixon and something Sansha Cruiser later on.

Same feeling about the Gnosis, if they are dropping it as the Anniversary thing it should be a variant paint jobbed to introduce it and a regular version seeded in. Even an alternate Civilian Zephyer for Solar Sailing without the probes and Sleeper immunity.

Limited Issue is nice but limiting, they shouldn't tie down hulls to it because they are almost never seen after a certain point. If they can get everyman Pirate ships and SOCT Ships after their promo's I think it would make a much, much bigger splash.

The dev I talked to said they had about 4000 cards, and I'd imagine 50-60% will actually be used. Also that PAX East would be the first place they'd be available, but likely not the last.

You know. You put so much effort into that joke that I'm going to feel guilty if I don't at least make the effort to try and pick it up.

No I had to drop the contract to make room. Had it been an NPC station in a hostile territory then sure it would have been a fun and challenging trip but when you know the station is locked beforehand. It kind of takes the fire out of the adventure.

You can also get a pirate rookie ship by signing up for the FanFest streaming. That's also where I got my most fashionable shirt. Jelly? : >

If you want, you can use a PLEX to pay for the streaming, sell the stuff you get on the market, buy a PLEX with the isk you just got. Tada, you basically get the streaming for free.

When I get home I'm doing exactly this.

If I lose a few on the way it just makes it even better.
