Highsec Shipping Issue...

I've been making my isk ingame primarily through shipping in highsec with my freighter. This morning before downtime I saw a *Huge* number of courier contracts from Jita to Luminaire appear, all with very good rewards (4m a jump, 350k m^3 per). The collateral on each of them was 3bn isk, but I thought "Well its highsec, whats the worst that could happen?" I proceeded to accept all of them consuming most of my liquid isk (39bn). I put the first contract in my freighter after downtime and piloted to Luminaire, where I discovered that there was a queue to get in. That seemed odd for a non-Jita/non-trade hub system, so I came here to see what was going on. That is how I discovered that any ships going into Luminaire will be blown up, and any courier contracts with them.

CCP certainly could have done a better job publicizing this event. These contracts expire before the event ends, so I will be out 39bn isk. Evil I also feel bad for all of my clients that may not have appropriately collateralized whatever is in all these freight containers I was supposed to haul. It should be no big loss, I can hopefully sell whatever I was supposed to haul to cover my collateral losses. I can only recommend that the "Goonswarm Federation" players who made all these courier contracts keep up on E.v.e. news more carefully in the future...

whoever told you that anyone going into the system would be blown up was lying... you should research what you talking about before you complain.

secondly the event has been building up for some time.

finally you should already know this, but if it seems to good to be true it almost certainly is, especially in EVE.

So you saw a massive spike of courier contracts all to a single system, and all for well above average pay, and you didn't think to ask why that might be?

Sounds like you've paid 39B for a lesson you urgently needed.

In EVE, like life, if something looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

The OP posted this thread --> https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=217599&find=unread hours before this thread yet claims CCP didn't get the word out?

Am I confused or did I see what he did there? Hmm, GoonSwarm ...

This.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

You accepted a lot of scam contracts. Goons camping near Uedama will be glad to gank them off your hands.

If Goonswarm... THE Goonswarm can't bust out enough muscle to cover one freighter in hisec... egads, sell the house and spend it all on drugs, for verily the apocalypse has come.

Seriously, though - ask your buddies for help. That's what they are there for.
