I also feel i have failed in life, now.

My gosh. Someone started a Star trek Thread besides me for a change. Big smile

Anyway, I'm excited about the film, but I have a feeling this is a Star trek film without any stars. It pretty much seems land-based from all the trailers and pics so far.

But some of the best episodes were land based, so we shall see.

The only negative is the ugly posters that could be from almost any standard action film: Ugh !Ugh

Not sure which I am looking forwards to more. The film or the nerd rage.

Uh-oh!

Actually my sentence at the very end of Post #3 above is starting to become an issue with fans !

There is a hint here: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/61562

And a full article here: Where has all the trekking gone ?

We may be in for an exciting movie, but not necessarily a Star Trek movie.

Thoughts ?

I would not have even thought of nerd rage 2 days ago, but the mood is indeed starting to change. ^ ^

Which tears are better? Star Wars or Star Trek?

I'm a big trek fan myself. But i dont care "that" much. I just ignore what I dont like.

I play in both camps. I like the whole "Trek" universe. Spaceships good!

I was around when Star Wars first came out (you youngsters may know it as Episode 4) and the first time I saw it, it was the single coolest thing that ever happened to me.

Hell, I even remember the original BSG with Loren Greene.

As long as the "space" genre is well represented, I'm content.

Damn, didn't know they build their spaceships so solid..... Crashing from space without falling apart? My minmatar ship can barely hold together when I overheat my MWD.

Well, we saw a Romulan ship crash into San Francisco Bay in ST IV. Did you miss that ?

If a Romulan ship can do it, I would think a federation ship could.

Also, in Generations, the saucer section of the Enterprise survived until it hit the ground.

So somewhere down the cast list for ST:ID Christopher Doohan was listed...
So I clicked it...: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1067053/

And yes indeed, he is the son of James Doohan, our beloved original Montgomery Scott. So I looked to see what else he might be in and saw the entry for Star Trek Continues in post production... Shocked
So I clicked it...: and didn't get anything very helpful
So I Googled it (that's totally a real verb): http://www.startrekcontinues.com/

I'm thinking this will be nice and campy.

Tactical destroyers... I'll take a dozen Gallente, please.
