Next time just send the judges a picture of your boobs, claim the prize and skip the event.

Tusker CEO here. The video clearly shows that you didn't reach the can called "End Point" or some such but rather the Cargo Container I dropped nearby which had spare bubbles inside it. In hindsight this was a mistake.

Also, we're not null sec guys (although we do pvp there a bit), so not sure how the current state of sovereignty mechanics has anything to do with this event..

As for the person claiming that we've dishonoured 2 ransoms against him in the past, I've had a quick look through our killboard and we haven't killed you in the last 2 years as far as I can tell. If you can provide evidence, I can take this further.

o7 on posting, clarifying, and owning up to a vaguery/mistake. And for organizing and hosting the event at all. I've organized MMO competitions before, and it's tough to foresee every possible situation that might come up. It's an MMO world after all-- many individuals doing complex interactions, within the hardline micro-restrictions of the game's mechanics. It's hard to foresee every possible issue that might arise.

Too bad about the misunderstanding in this case, but o7 for the time and work of hosting the event. It can be kind of a thankless job.

What a well thought out finish line, lets leave a bunch of cans laying around. Must have wanted a greater chance of making sure there was no winner to pay out.

Why ofcourse, the entire event was organized to screw the 300 odd racers out of their millions of ISK in entry fee... oh wait, no fee was charged and close to 6B in prizes paid out.

Remove your tin foil hat and please visit us in Hevrice or nearby systems, preferably in the most expensive ship you can get into.

I am the DeathRace organizer for The Tuskers.

This week I have personally given away over 10b in ISK and Prizes to our winners and award recipients.

I have addressed Finger Puppet on my blog, in chat and in private emails.

HIs wreck was 9k from the Finish Line.

He deserves all the credit in the world for being one of the first to enter the final system and for staying alive as long as he did. For this action I decided to award him an "Honorable Mention" on the prize post. As I informed him previously, we were even planning on putting something together for him in appreciation of his efforts. That is, before he started going public.

I made the call. As I did with each and every one of the prizes awarded. The rest of my Corp m8s back me up.

As was stated many, many times. The decision of the judges is FINAL. There really cannot be another way.
( And before anyone claims that we cannot change our mind, let me point out that several prizes were changed once additional information became available to us in the first 24hrs. Such as KB stats for example.)

Out of 283 racers, 18 got a prize. Out of the remaining 265 that didn't win a prize, only one is...

Well, you get the idea.

Here is the video for all to judge.

I'm surprised nobody has posted this:

I got the exact same thing our op got..a nice honorable mention for coming in absolutely dead last.

Maybe next year I don't have a fairly wings emergency that requires building a hospital. Oh well. I enjoyed my run.

Holy mother of god.

Finger Puppet, you whinged endlessly - repeating your "I died and won" mantra every minute or so for over forty minutes before my alt checked out of Fleet.

Simply shouting the loudest will not get you what you want. Not in FleetComms, and not here. Doesn't mater whether you did, or did not - you're simply not going to get what you want. This is a dry hole - Give it up and go waste your time more profitably doing something less obnoxious.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

I didn't whine endlessly like you suggest. I felt it fell on me at the time to announce my win, I didn't know there were 2 finish lines and didn't have time to look while I was burning my flaming ass 200k off gate. I could have made the second can easily but turned around on the first one. I did not bounce off of it.

Only you are of the opinion there were two finish lines. This is why you are wrong.

I was there(TM). Or, more accurately, my alt was. I beg to differ.

I made the same mistake, actually, and warped to the wrong can - but I checked overview and saw that there was one can clearly labeled as "FINISH LINE", so I just switched directions.

And I was at least a full minute behind the lead, so how the hell did someone not get a pod to that can and snarf up the first-pod prize?

Seriously, though, this race was incredibly fun, and hats off to the Tuskers for making it happen.

Video clearly shows Finger Puppet dying short of the finish line. Not sure what else there is to say. Insisting on victory when you clearly were defeated is just another fun part of Eve. Enjoy your 15 seconds of fame.

Righto, lets set one thing straight.

Finger Puppet did NOT meet the Winner requirements - Not only that, but ever since the race only just ended, he has been whining and threatening that he should be the winner, and when I say whining, he was non-stop from the moment the race finished, up until this point on the forums apparently.

On the other hand, The Tusker Deathrace was an unorganized mess with no real danger, crap planning such as "Go to this station and buy this book.... oh wait somebodies bought them all, didn't think of that.... guess you don't need the book anymore LOLOLOL", and the WORST thing was people ignoring the rules with the FC's response being "Oh well", which is dreadful considering that people actually got ahead in the race by ignoring the rules (FC said to go to the eve gate and fight at a planet for a bit - Smart people just stayed at the gate out of the systems, didn't fight, and just waited for the next destination)

But Finger Puppet, even if he did in fact win, has been a whining little ***** about it non-stop, and really needs to get over it and grow some balls.

I got out of the bubble camp while 3-5 was still undecided, I wasn't really sure where the can was so I just bounced around system a bit aimlessly before I figured out the can was on grid with the bubble camp.

Obviously I should be awarded 3rd place for having potentially been able to accomplish that, even though I did not. :P

Instead I just had a great time and felt honoured to have even made the top-10 list and can't wait till a new death race is organized since it was a great event and I enjoyed participating in it a lot.

Rixx, the tuskers, RK and everyone that helped organise it did a wonderful job, it was a lot of fun. Can't wait till the next one. :)
