Its Tuskers mate I have had 2 ransoms a few years ago not honored by these guys, no experience with them after that but I would never trust them anyways. Looks like they screwed you over aswell, its eve live and learn I guess

Proof or it didn't happen. The Tuskers heirarchy have a strong opposition to corp members not honouring ransoms so I'd wager you just made that up. Also, considering the calibre of pilots that the Tuskers recruit and the fact that this is the first allegation of a dishonoured Tusker ransom (that I've ever heard of at least) I'm willing to bet that you just made that up. Feel free to prove me wrong though by linking lossmails and chatlogs (which I'm sure have conveniently been lost in time or you've changed PCs or formatted your OS or something ;) )

Finger Puppet: I wasn't at the Death Race due to RL commitments so I can't say either way what happened, but from what I understand you were exploded 7-9km from the finish can so didn't... win?

I didn't follow the event, so I don't know about how things went at the end. Just wanted to say there might have been some kind of lag between your ship exploding and it showing you where you actually were. I have had that happen in the past, where I thought I was in one place when my ship exploded as I was going at high speed, but then seen on replays from others where I wasn't where I actually thought I was when I exploded. Anyway, in my opinion, just take the fun you had and move on. Big smile

Seems like you won to me. Do the organisers play EVE? Surely they know ships will overshoot the cans?

It seems kind of a **** idea to make people go all that way and then when they reach the can they just get instapopped by a bunch of people sitting there waiting and told they havent won lol.

Who ended up winning? and how?

well yeah but he didn't, if he walks behind the finish on a road to the left he still wont have won

Sounds like no, you didn't win.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

It's exactly this, the Tuskers have gone over all the video evidence on what happened and it has been thoroughly discussed on our own forums.

Finger Puppet approached the wrong can while being chased by a swarm of light drones, when he bounced off the can the drones popped him, this can was not the finish line.

It isn't called the Death Race for no reason, people are expected to die, if that is 1 jump in or 1km from the finish line, either way it is a death.

Be happy you got killed by our future lord and saviour CSM member, Jester.

But yeah the game gets wonky when you go fast and have things in subsecond times.

Link me this video because the one I saw very clearly shows the ship not reach the can and blow up short.

What a well thought out finish line, lets leave a bunch of cans laying around. Must have wanted a greater chance of making sure there was no winner to pay out.

People end up organizing events like this, and thousands of others, regardless of what is going on in other parts of the EvE universe.

The over riding goal is to have fun, and there are a limitless number of ways to accomplish this in EvE.

I'm sorry, but this event has nothing what so ever to do with the agenda you are trying to push.

As a side note, the most ardent voices asking for null sec mechanics to be cleaned up (and made more challenging) are those of the null sec factions that are benefiting the most from the current mechanics.

Reading this story really emphasises how badly null sec is broken where the null bears are so bored they feel the need to organise these races to entertain themselves. I signed up to play eve for the grim battles, wars, and world domination, not care bear racing games.

Just shut up. First of all, this doesn't have anything to do with 0.0, it was organized by some lowsec dudes. Also the goal of the game is to have fun and who are you to say that people shouldn't make up their own events?

Tusker CEO here. The video clearly shows that you didn't reach the can called "End Point" or some such but rather the Cargo Container I dropped nearby which had spare bubbles inside it. In hindsight this was a mistake.

Also, we're not null sec guys (although we do pvp there a bit), so not sure how the current state of sovereignty mechanics has anything to do with this event..

As for the person claiming that we've dishonoured 2 ransoms against him in the past, I've had a quick look through our killboard and we haven't killed you in the last 2 years as far as I can tell. If you can provide evidence, I can take this further.
