About how long does it typically take to hear back regarding an application, positive or negative? Thanks!

The process is a bit more involved than that, and may involve back and forth exchanges. The Captains and Vice Admiral are the ones really involved in it, though, so they can probably give you a better estimate on the actual time before first contact, and then a decision.

To be blunt and frank, anything from a week to several months. This is mainly depending a bit on things we have no control over, like the workload of CCP's (very hard working) Community Team who forwards eligible applicants to the team leads of CCL so we can invite them for an interview.

On that note, I would like to ask everybody who has applied in the last half year or so to check the E-mail addresses they applied with, including the spam box.
In the last few months we have send out invitations for an interview to various people, but only a few of those replied. In the past we have encountered things like E-mail addresses specifically created for the application to ISD (their existence promptly forgotten..), spam-boxes with our invitations in them emptied (without a prior look for mails mistakenly labelled as spam), etcetera.

As in the past questions have been raised about the security of the personal information submitted in the aplication proces, I would like to stress that all personal information send in is handled with the strictest confidentiality. Only a handful of people within CCP and the leads of CCL will ever see the RL applications.
We are, quite rightly, under a strict NDA and I am proud to say none of the members of CCL has ever broken that confidence.
Nor will they in the future, as I will personally strangle them if they do....Shocked

If you want to be a member of CCL and have not applied yet, please do so now! It can be a long process, but once your in we welcome you with open arms into our wonderful team. \o/

Thanks, Star Destroyers, for the quick response. Should we make sure to add or make trusted the eve-ccl e-mail address in the original posting, just to make sure it's not getting bounced? Or possibly another address? Thanks again.

White listing everything that comes from *@ccpgames.com , *@eve-ccl.net and *@eve-isd.net would indeed be a good idea.

Several MONTHS??????????? Shocked

Need some Tech-3-cruiser-level-5-skills efficiency. I understand a long procedure, but months, really?

It would be funny: it's 2016, the ATXIV is live, NEO IV is past, the Rio Olympics are a logistics failure and I receive a email hiring me to something I completely forgot about it.

Perhaps this post would kick me off the procedure for good but I prefer to be honest and say what everybody is thinking and are afraid to discuss openly.

That would be years. And it doesn't take that long. Also, as explained in my post above, that would only happen in extreme cases. Usually it would be a (much) shorter period.
It also depends a bit on the player we send the mail to. White-list the given E-mail addresses and check your spambox.

I had a couple of questions, just out of curiousity.

I assume that a forum moderator wouldn't be able to make any posts from their personal main EVE pilot on the forum anymore. Is this an ability you miss? Is it difficult to deal with not being able to express an opinion on any topics?

Second question.. how does it work with ISD pilots being exposed to API? I would think that an ISD pilot would occupy one of 3 slots on an account.. what if an API check would reveal that? Isn't that a problem?

Just wondering. Apologize if these questions are out of line.

I can't actually talk about this. (I'd tell you but then I'd have to kill you, etc.)

ISD characters are always on a separate account that exists solely for that purpose. They do not share an account with anyone's actual player character. So, this is a non-issue.

Is it really necessary to quote the rule a thread broke before locking it? I can appreciate the need for checks and balances, but frankly it seems like it should only be necessary if it's a potential gray area. 95% of threads that are locked are done so for painfully obvious reasons. Just seems like a waste of your time and makes an already grindy job more grindy.

Yes. We do it so the reason the thread is closed is as transparent as possible. Hope that helps.

Very well. Next question. What is the backstory behind "Barstorlode"? It's in the same vein as "Cumberbatch" IMO

Also it's less extra effort than you'd think. A couple extra clicks to greatly increase transparency and reduce complaints by letting people understand why we do stuff seems worth it to me.

Please note that "Dorrim Barstorlorde" is also an anagram for "Mr Red Rods Robot Liar", "Broad Terrorism Lord" or "Tomb Lord's Raid Error".

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.
