So, all that pointless bickering aside - I want to wish the good admiral the best of luck and express my confidence that her experience will see us all through this crisis.

Succinct words. I also extend my regards.

So, the Federal propaganda now has a famous face to place behind the Shiigeru's presence.

I'm more interested in what kind of 'leaked documents' will FIO publish about that than the actual return of the aforementioned Admiral.

In any case good luck, et cetera...

If the Federation had ancestral claims to New Caldari and hypothetically held there a world hostage, you'd probably not be too happy either.

Here's what I don't understand Mlle. Mekhana, the people (not the planet) on Caldari Prime are being held hostage in case of scenarios just like the ones you're praising. Do you not see the inevitable outcome?

People are going to die because both sides are too busy playing the villain while wearing the mask of the victim.

Ms.Desiderya,

That might have been a long time ago but now the system of Luminaire is sovereign Federation territory and it's birthplace.

The situation on Caldari Prime is a front to Federation sovereignty and as such is an act of war.

It is something unavoidable and irreparable as of now.

Idealistically, I'm against the invasion and occupation of a Gallente world. There's also the imprisonment and killing of Federation citizens.

Politically, I'm against the breach of sovereign Federation territory as I explained earlier.

Personally, I'm a mix of the two. The best thing I can do right now or perhaps the only thing I can think of doing in this dire situation is to be stern and wish for a favorable outcome as possible to the conflict.

Such an impressive 'lifetime imprisonment' there Caine.
Seriously doubted it's authenticity at the time.

Well, it seems with this turning more and more to war; at least business will be good for the next few years.

I am relieved that Admiral Yanala has returned to her place above the homeworld. May she bring peace, honour and stability as the highest of her escorts.

We both cut a profit off of war.

But war is still reprehensible business. My hope is that all-out aggression can be avoided at all cost. I can take no pleasure in gloating over blood money.

I hope so, but a military official coming out of retirement to helm a ship doesn't sound like a peaceful act; if it was they would have named her a diplomat.

The great thing about being a merc, you can say no when people ask you to go into a village and burn people alive. The only type of blood I'm spilling for this fight of bloated egos will be cloned a few moments later.

You don't send a diplomat to your enemy until the military leaders have agreed to a cessation of hostilities. A diplomat handles political, economical and social arenas. Military arenas require military leaders. If anything, we should take this as a sign that the Caldari are preparing to make good on their promise if things keep pace.

The military is the product of politics, if your military is off doing its own thing while politics goes in another direction; something is wrong and usually civil war happens or a coup d'etat.

The esteemable Admiral maintained a fragile piece while commanding a Titan of war, shortly after it was used to conduct an act that was heard of throughout the Cluster, all the while surrounded by enemies who cried for blood and backed by extremists who wanted more.

I can think of no better commander for Shiigeru in these troubled times.

No, the Admiral took over command of the CNS Shiigeru. (The titan in orbit)

Yes, the military should work in tandem with politics. The point remains, you don't send a diplomat in until the stage has been set for diplomacy. The current situation isn't a diplomatic one, it's a military one and until the military situation is calmed to a point that a diplomat will even be heard, sending one would be fruitless. We're sidetracked at this point however.
