I read templar one but im still a-little confused. Why would caldari immortals run to gallente space when now it seems like the gallente are killing immortals. Could someone ease my confusion ? Id prefer some links but if you summarize thats fine. Could I find this info in the "Eve" news/chronicles ?

Caldari went into Gallente space to reclaim a Caldari planet that had been under Gallente occupation. I believe the planet's name was Caldari Prime, but I'm not certain. The name of the planet is irrelevent, though. What's important is that the Caldari planet under Gallente occupation is now back in under Caldari control and all remaining Gallente citizens have orbital guns aimed at their heads hostage-style.

This was all orchestrated by Tibus Heth and some one called The Broker, if I recall correct, but I'm not sure what The Broker got out of this deal save a ridiculous sum of ISK.

The Caldari State was a state of the Gallente Federation by default because the Caldari and the Gallente home planets are neighboring planets in the same home system. There came a time the Caldari left the Federation and war broke out. The Gallente seized Caldari prime as they were trying to escape. Now fastforwarding and skipping forward a lot. The Caldari under the leadership of Tibus Heth and orchestrated by the Broker invaded the system of Luminaire to liberate Caldari Prime. Now a titan sits in orbit of Caldari Prime "Protecting" Caldari Citizens and the Gallente see it as "holding Gallente citizens hostage."

Long story short tensions are high and the Immortal soldier conflict as well as destruction of two Caldari navy vessels and letting the freighter escape is causing huge tensions on the Caldari and Gallente governments. It was in the game lore news that in response the Gallente launched a massive "training" fleet to train for better border security. This action has prompted the Caldari to mobilize defense units and stack their fleets. Long story short they are laying foundations for possible upping of the FW system.

With all the talk on ISD about purging DUST troops, nuking their clone facilities, etc, it makes me wonder if CCP is planning on pulling the plug on DUST and are just trying to write it into the lore.

MASSIVE SPOILERS!!!!! you have been warned

The Broker's primary goal remained gaining access to Insorum, a cure to the Vitoc addiction that his clones all have. He wants it for personal use but has never told a soul.

He became aware that Ishkone Corporation (the one Caldari mega-corp that's the most liberal and most willing to deal with Gallenteans) had developed it. Otro (whatever the last name was), the Ishkone CEO at the time, refused to give it to the Broker as his intention was to use it to free the remaining Minmatar slaves, and knowing the Broker's reputation, he assumed the Broker would sell it to the Amarr.

So the Broker decided to pressure Otro, and in Broker style goes a tad overboard. Knowing Otro's desire for peace, he has one of his clones assassinate and impersonate Admiral Noir in Caldari-Gallente peace talks at Ishukone HQ (Noir being a Gallentean with a reputation for liberalism toward the Caldari). He then has Noir fly his Nyx into the Ishukone HQ, killing Otro and all of his clones as well as around a million Caldari civilians, starting the present Gallente/Caldari war.

Heth is a Broker servant that has been well rewarded for his actions, but the Broker chose him because he was a member of the Templis Dragonaurs, a Caldari nationalist terrorist group. The Caldari Prime action was Heth's alone IIRC, and the power to seize the planet was his reward for serving the Broker so well.
