How hard is it to reply to someone?

I mean it only took a few ounces of brain energy for me to hit reply and post forth this garbage.

I mean if saving your fat fingers from exercise was your point, then why type "google it" in the first place.

Why not just ignore the thread all together?

"Google it" is a good reply. What you want are people who do it for you.

Post started on a presumptuous untruth. I feel the old /b/ saying fits equally well here. GD was never good. Get over it.

You must be new here. Hi, I'm Ginger, and I dislike lazy people. EveO doesn't have an Easy Mode Button; if you want to do something, you need to get off yer arse and read a little something about it. As someone who watches Help Chat often, I can categorically SAY that people are, INDEED, lazy, and don't even bother Google'ing...

1. Wiki (http://wiki.eveonline.com)
2. Google
3. Ask in Help Chat

When all those have failed to teach you what you are looking for, by all means, hit the Forums and start a good thread (not the usual crap we see in GD). You'll get much better results.

You must be new here. Even after you have followed steps 1, 2 and then 3, then it's still not worth coming onto the forums.

I do not post in the Q&A section. No idea where Jill got that from.

That's something, i guess.

I do in fact have a little problem with people posting offensively stupid things in NCQ&A. I wish moderation would be a little more strict there. Let's just say that your ... special ... kind of posting would have no place in there and leave it at that. You might be aware of that yourself and not post in New Citizens because of that, i didn't check. If so, thanks.

To give my 2 cents on the topic... it depends on a lot of things. If someone clearly didn't put any effort into finding his own answer and also no effort into his own post, i don't feel like putting any effort into answering his question. "Google it" is actually more than some "what to mine?!" threads deserve.
On the other hand, a thread with a polite or at least well formulated question should get a good answer. Well, in New Citizens, at least. GD is a different beast :)

Try google. :) If you look at threads from 2003 and beyond then there are a lot of helpful answers in the forums. Unfortunately most of the advice is now out of date.

If you are looking for info on any ship that has changed over the last year step #1 is a terrible idea actually. #2 often requires you have some background info for what specifically you are looking for, otherwise the experience can be both frustrating and unfruitful. Subjectively this can apply more in some situations than others.

That is true. But in all cases asking on the eve forums is generally the worst idea. You would get a better answer more quickly by creating a character on the Test Server and trying it out yourself. There used to be quite a few really helpful players on the forums, they literally had an encyclopedic knowledge on everything regarding eve and tried to help everyone. But now I would say it's not worth using the forums for information.
