Hek is taking over as Minmatar Trade Hub. I'll list the reasons why.#

1. Faction Warfare :- Provides much better ISK/Phr, ISK/per effort, ISK/ skill point than doing level 4's. Many bears have left level 4's to grind faction warfare and metro has better access to this space.

2. Location - Hek is closer to Dodxie and Jita so it's easier to supply by 6 jumps. Hek is also in Metro which if you base out of Rancer you can be in Jita, Amarr and Dodixie trade range within 2 jumps of each other. ( I do this which allows me to adjust orders in 3 hubs by simply making 3 jumps). If I wanted to adjust my Rens orders I'd need to make 6 jumps to get into Eystur system.

3. Incursions- Hek has been frequented by several incursions in nearby constellations offering customers and sellers.

4. Data Center and COSMO, Hek is 1 jump from the Cosmo plexes.

These 4 things are seeing Hek become the primary Minmatar trade hub.

Rens does have some benefits,

1. Good access to level 4 mission runners.

2. Goof access to school systems so new players learn about Rens and start shopping there very soon into the game,

3. 1 Jump from Epic Arc mission suppliers and local systems feature heavily in the arc.

What's going on in minmatar space? I used to use rens as a market hub to buy my stuff at jita costs but now they don't have my stuffs on market to buy what I need. Is hek the new main market hub in minmatar space these days?

Rens never carried "Everything", but the volume is still reasonable. I bought large amounts of minerals there while producing cruisers and then battlecruisers.

Here to hoping Rens fades and Hek becomes the new Minmatar trade hub.

Hek is closer to the main Jita/Amarr/Dodixie passage routes. When you ship freighter loads of stuff the extra travel time can become significant to the point that Rens was inconvient and a waste of time away from the other hubs.

Unrelated but I didn't want to make a new thread:

The stickies at the top of this forum are actually quite helpful.

Hubs like this are becoming more like secondary hubs. You notice it in Dodixie as well. Half of the stuff on market there no longer comes from primary production, it is flown in from Jita and put on market at a serious mark-up.

Causes? If you ask me the increasing popularity of Jita is causing most primary producers to simply ship their product there to sell, instead of selling it in the hubs in their own region/empire.
On top of that the increasing popularity of FW and the changes to level 4 mission agents standing requirements is making it so that some locations are just not as relevant as they used to be.

I would agree with the consensus that Hek is busier lately and Rens is slower. I think Hek having a built in EUNI population helps it as well.

Rens:Hek::Oursulaert:Dodixie

Also, how did Arnon IX fall to 20th? I always figured it would be higher.
