It would appear that the only soldiers using the sleeper tech are the issue. Those using "our own variants" are not a problem and I assume not included in the purge.

So please everyone, stop talking like this is a war against any and all immortal soldiers. Its not, its just against some small subset of them, those that use the original technology and have gone insane.


OH, stop the presses! They're only trying to slaughter a minority out of the whole! I feel much better now that I'm assured that the genocide will be so limited . . .

Its not clear if "purge" needs to be "kill". It could also mean round them up and purge them of the implants and their madness. Although based on Caldari actions they seem to be taking the "kill" approach. Personally Id rather see them cured, or at least have their implants swapped over to the new ones so they can have the career they originally signed up for.

But if these few insane soldiers start attacking civilians, then deadly action is acceptable.

I somehow doubt the Empire took out a recognized patent on quasi-immortal foot soldiers.
