[Ubuntu 12.04] Crash on entering character.

Hello,

I am currently using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with Wine 1.5.25 and the propertiary ATI/AMD FGLRX graphics driver. My current graphics card is the ATI 7770 Ghz Edition; the processor i7 920 and I have six gigabytes of RAM. The last time I was in-game it was inside my quarters.

I have followed this guide I have found on the forums; and a quick search didn't show any relevant thread.

See the last post. Down rev to 1.5.24, 1.5.25 is crap apparently.

To downgrade if you upgraded:
sudo aptitude install wine1.5=1.5.24-0ubuntu1

I have tried your solution, but alas the crash persists. I have checked the Wine webpage and found out that it always crashes at the quarters. I'll stick with Windows for now, thanks for your reply though.

What you shoudl do is install the 1.5.24.

Start by turning off the captiain quatores in the setting page. This will get you into the games.

Once you have iut up and running you can turn on captiant quatoerr again, but dont enter it as it will crash the game, and you can play well on linux.

I myself haveplayed on linux now for atleast 6 years and almost no problems.

it is actually called "Load Station Environment" - remove that for the first startr. After that you can turn it on again.
