Outrageous Claims? or Cold hard Fact?: The Nighthawk Fourth Bonus has no effect in PVE.

Breaking News!

So I was chatting up a bunch of mission running players, and they tell me:

"The fourth bonus on the Nighthawk would be good, but it never gets calculated due to the slow speed that NPCs travel at"

So for PVE use the 4th bonus on the Nighthawk is nada, zero, zilch?


How can this be?

I pulled up a calculator and hulled down,

according to this widget right here: http://www.evegeek.com/missile.php

Those mission running guys are correct, it will NEVER affect final damage.

The entire argument is based on the accuracy of that there calculator, does anyone know if the calculator is right?

Tengu - Scourge Fury - ~145m/s explosion velocity
Nighthawk - Scourge Fury - ~182m/s explosion velocity

Just pulling numbers from EFT here

I'll concede that in mission running situations, yes the Nighthawk's 4th bonus does not kick in very often.
That said, I know Angel Battleships will burn at 200m/s+
But then again mission running isn't the only use for Nighthawks. PVE wise, the 4th bonus does help a lot in incursions.

But then we can bring up PVP. If you're rolling in a gang, as far as i know, any ship without a propulsion mod is either bait or dead. So I'm fairly certain the explosion velocity bonus will always increase dps.
