I'm currently working at my temporary job at The Scope Galactic News Network while I search for another corporation. I am tasked with previewing various programs before they are put on holo-projectors everywhere in the Federation. There is nothing shady about this job, there is little censorship in the Federation. My job primarily consists of making sure the holo-tapes aren't glitched before more copies are made or making sure some jackass didn't slip some sick practical joke in a children's program before it airs. That kind of stuff.

I like the job, I prefer putting my capsuleer skills to the test but it's a pretty good gig. I get to watch all my favorite programs weeks before they air and get paid for it. Sometimes studios ask for my critique so they can do last minute fixes. Simply put, it's a fun. However, occasionally I get odd previews, like several Black Eagles holo-tapes that will be coming to you soon. I approved them of course, I approve 99% of all material, however this is blatant propaganda against the Caldari State.

Please note that this these films do not represent my opinions on the State, nor do they represent the beliefs of Black Eagle's members. The Black Eagle's private studio is simply where it was made, however this is obvious propaganda.

First there was a short musical production titled. "Tibus Heth's Face", it's a very funny sketch that obviously makes fun Tibus Heth and the State's attitude towards him, yet this is clearly a propaganda film, if a fairly innocent one.

Tibus Heth's Face

(A humorous little melody starts playing, the curtain opens and there is a man meant to look like Tibus Heth with several Caldari military officers, and leaders of several mega corps Heth begins singing. )

Chorus:
Heth: When Tibus Heth says, we is the master race!
All: We hail! Hail! (There is a Caldari military salute with each hail)
Heth: Not to love Tibus Heth is a big disgrace so,
All: We hail! Hail!
Heth: Right in Tibus Heth's face!

(melody at beginning repeats for a few beats)

Heth: When Nugoeihuvi says,
Ishukone: We own New Eden's Space!
All: We hail! Hail!
Heth: Right Nugoeihuvi's face! When Kaalakoita says,
Kalakoita:They'll never bomb this place![/i
All: We hail! Hail!
Heth: Right in Kaalakoita's face!

Heth: Are we not the supermen? Caldari pure supermen?
All: Ya we is the supermen!
Effeminate voice: Super-duper supermen!
Heth: Is this Statist land so good? Would you leave it if you could?
All: Ya this Statist land is good! We would leave it if we could!

Heth: Everyone of foreign race, loves Tibus Heth's face!
Heth: [i]So we bring to the world this order!

Chorus repeats

(Musical interlude: During the musical interlude, a man that I guess is suppose to look like Mentus Blaque starts committing various antics against Heth and is group. He defaces the Caldari State insignia and several corporate logos by graffiti a black eagle on them with paint. Blaque gets chased around by Heth and his party in a comical fashion. At one moment they all run off stage chasing Blaque. Heth and is group run back on stage getting chased by a giant eagle with Blaque riding ontop of it. They return to mid stage eventually and sing the chorus once more)

Chorus repeats: The last word (face) is sustained for a few extra beats. Then the man playing Tibus Heth gets pelted by a salvo of rotten fruit, thrown by everyone on stage including, his own group. The curtain then closes.

This was a clear attempt to make fun of the State and Tibus Heth while gaining support for the Federation and Black Eagles. I found the skit to be quite funny. I enjoyed it a lot. Despite being obvious propaganda, it was funny. However the next piece takes on a more ominous and serious note. This is a longer film based off of a propaganda pamphlet circulated among extremely nationalistic Gallente. The film is an animated feature and seems to be intended to be shown before full length films and even to children. Once again the writing is not my explanation of the film, but of the pamphlet that it was based off of.

One thing I can tell you right off the bat is that things are extremely exaggerated and even outright lies. I've spent some time in the Caldari State myself and can tell you that many of the things in this pamphlet are simply not true and 100% fabricated, I'm assuming you will be able to tell which is which. If you have any questions as to the legitimacy of a claim made by this film/pamphlet please ask!

An Education for Death: The Making of a Statist, The Story of one of Heth's Children, Proudly Sponsored by the Black Eagles

What makes Statist? How does someone get that way? To begin with, State control over a Caldari child begins as soon as they are born. To understand this, lets take a look at a young Caldari couple. They are in a Caldari Corporate Courthouse, approaching an official to register the birth of their new baby boy.

"Hail Heth." The couple recite timidly.
"Hail Heth!" The official shouts with significantly more zeal.
"I am a worker from the Ishukone corporation," the wife began.
"Me too!" The husband interrupted.
"Yes him too," the wife continued. "We have recently received our first baby. A young pure Caldari boy. We have his documents here." The wife then passes a group of documents to the officer. These documents are birth certificates, going all the way back to their great-grandparents. These birth certificates are to prove that the new child will be of 100% Caldari blood. While not a requirement in Caldari society, those that are pure have a significantly higher socio-economic standing than others.

"We would like to name our child Haans," The woman stated.
"Haans you say? Let me double check the forbidden names list!" The officer skims through the list of forbidden names. The majority of which are Gallentean names. "Everything appears fine to me! Congratulations on baby Haans!" the officer then hands them a book of Heth's speeches and writings and a document that allows for the birth of 10 more children without registration. A subtle hint that Heth needs an army!

Now, lets look at Haans has he begins to grow up. As a young child he is told a fable by his parents, much like a child in nearly every corner of New Eden. His favorite story is a classic across the stars. There is a dark and stormy castle atop a high and menacing cliff. Inside an evil witch holds a young and beautiful princess in a spell which forces her into an eternal sleep. However the State put a twist on this classic tale. You see, in this warped version, the witch's name is "Democracy". Democracy is busy conjuring up a new spell in her castle one day, the princess is sleeping in the next room. However, suddenly, without a warning, a brave knight storms into the castle and after brutal combat the knight defeats Democracy! Afterward, he breaks the witch's spell by kissing the princess. The knight learns that the princess's name is "Caldari" and the princess learns that the knight's name is "Tibus Heth". The knight carries Caldari out of the evil castle and the two live happily ever after. I suppose the moral of the story is that Tibus Heth defeated our Democratic Federation and saved the Caldari State.

A story like this is key in molding young the Statist's mind. Tibus Heth becomes Haans' idol. However one day, Haans becomes very sick. His mother hopes that he needs to get better very soon, for she knows that those who are ill will be taken away by the State, and are often never heard from again. While the mother takes care of Haans at his bedside, there is a harsh knock on the door. A State official walks in.

"Hail Heth!" He shouts, as is a typical Caldari greeting.
"Hail Heth." The mother replies.
"What is the meaning of this!" The official shouts. "Haans has been absent from his corporate sponsored education for over two weeks now! It is starting to appear that the rat is permanently incapacitated! If he does not recover and become the strong Caldari boy the State needs him to be then he will always be a rat and discarded as one! He is to return to school immediately or both you and him will be banished or disappear from the face of society! Hail Heth!"

Alas, Haans gets better and returns to school. His education advances further. Every morning he recites his pledge to serve his Corporation, the State, and his leader, Tibus Heth. If necessary, he will fight and die to protect three things. After the pledge, the teacher gives Haans and the other students a lecture in natural history.

The teacher activates the holo-projector. A short cartoon over a furrier walking around in a field begins to play. A wild slaver hound is behind a bush stalking the little animal. The slaver hound jumps out of the bush and chases down the furrier, who is eaten by the slaver as it was not fast enough. Now lets see what they have learned from this little demonstration.

"Now lets see what you have learned from this little demonstration," The teacher stated as he searched the class for a student to select. "Haans, tell me how you feel about this!"
"The poor furrier!" Haans says as the rest of the class gasps. How could he say such a thing?
"You dimwitted fool! That is not what this lesson is about! To the corner of the class idiot! One, two ,three, four!" The teacher counted as Haans marched to the corner where he would serve his punishment. Haans' corporation would be ashamed of such a stupid answer! The State would be ashamed of such a stupid answer! Even worse, Tibus Heth would be ashamed!

"Now, could someone who isn't going to be a corporate janitor give me the correct answer?" The teacher asked the rest of the class. The other students began to shout their answers.
"The galaxy belongs to the strong!" One yelled.
"And to the brutal!' another added on.
"The furrier was a coward and deserved to die! I spit on the furrier!" Another stated. What nice boys don't you think?

"Good! Good! Well done class!" The teacher commended. "Haans, what do you think of the furrier now?"
"I hate the rabbit!" Haans yelled. "There is no room in this galaxy for weaklings, there is only room for the slaver hounds! We should get rid of all furriers, of all weaklings!" Haans concluded. My, my, my, what a hateful little child Haans turned out to be. Nice going Tibus.

(Concluded in next post)

Yes, this lesson is the basis of the Statist creed. The Caldari State will wipe out all other weak and cowardly nations!

"Now we see that this furrier represents the cowards of the Minmatar Republic, and worse of all, the treacherous Gallente Federation! The slaver hound represents our mighty Amarrian allies and this glorious Caldari State!" The teacher began to rant. "Like the slaver devoured the furrier, we shall defeat our enemies!"
"Hail Heth! Hail Heth!" The children responded as programmed by their education.
" The Caldari are a super race of people! The others are inferior and will become our slaves!"
"Hail Heth! Hail Heth!"
" The Caldari are unconquerable! We fear no one!"

These fanatic cries can be heard all across the Caldari State. Most recently, on Caldari Prime where Caldari nationalist started violent riots against proper Gallente rule.

"Years of brutal Gallente oppression will come to an end!" A speaker at a rally turned riot shouted. "Today, we own Caldari Prime! Tomorrow, the whole galaxy! Hail Heth! Hail Heth!

Haans is now ready for the higher education as deemed bit by Tibus Heth. In the various rallies and riots across the Caldari state, information that do not adhere to corporate or State standards are discarded and destroyed, no matter how valuable or precious they might be. Humble proverbs are turned into Corporate slogans, religious imagery are turned into State icons. Gallentean homes are vandalized, Gallentean citizens are violated and injured.

Marching and hailing, hailing and marching, Haans grows up. In him is planted no seed of laughter, hope, tolerance, or mercy. For him only hailing and marching, marching and hailing as the years grind on. Manhood still finds him hailing and marching, however the grim years of regimentation have done their work. Now he is a good, Statist. He sees no more than what the State wants him to, like an animal with blinders. He says nothing but what the State wants him to say, like an hound wearing a muzzle. And finally, he does nothing but what the State wants him to do, like a slave with a collar.

And so he marches on, his millions of comrades, trampling on the rights of others. For now, his education is complete.

His education, for death.

Now for my thoughts on the matter. Once again, the two films I described are not my beliefs, the beliefs of Scope News, and basically anyone that didn't take part in making these films.

Obviously, this piece right here demonstrates just how disconnected relations between the State and the Federation has become. I feel the problem right now are the fanatical people in power. In the State you have primarily Heth spreading these sort of lies, here in the Federation there is a cabal of groups working together to spread hatred and resentment.

These propaganda films are so horribly skewed. Not once have I seen a Caldari citizen hailing Tibus Heth as if he were some sort of deity. To be quite honest I generally see the opposite most of the time. State and Corporate education seems to be centered around a child understanding his place in Caldari society, but never around the superiority of the State.

To the Black Eagle's credit, there is speculation that Heth personally believes that non-Caldari are inferior, however this appears to the be minority. Though exaggerating it to this extent is utterly ridiculous.

This my friends is why the Federation and the State are having trouble coming to peace. It is not our differing people, it is not our differing culture, it is because of the people that we both give power too. If we open our eyes and see that men like Heth and Blaque do not care for peace, only furthering their own power, then we can finally come to terms with the proper steps to achieve peace.

Alas, despite my disagreements with the two films (they will probably be available on holoreels shortly) I and my other colleagues had to approve of them. As Gallenteans we have to permit people to speak freely, even if they speak venom and lies.

I can't see why you would. I am half Caldari and find it very upsetting that part of my heritage is being completely butchered. I would suspect that a full Caldari, both in race and citizenship such as yourself would be completely outraged by these two films.

So long as the Gallente dog is barking it is, at least, not biting.

Needless to say both films are fantasist tripe. I have never once been required to 'Hail Heth' at any public facility in order to transact my business. The very act of elevating an individual above the common good is foreign to the Caldari Way, as anyone who knows anything about the Caldari would understand.

I was transacting business with the House of Records only today. All the highly efficient clerk was interested in was Citizen identities and the other relevant information.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

It's quite shocking that someone would actually go to great lengths to fabricate such blatant lies. I'm not sure which one of us should be most upset by this. The Caldari for people spreading false information about their lives, or the Gallente for being expected to believe these ridiculous statements.

Currently the most fanatic only believe what is being mentioned in these films. However I am a bit concerned about attempts to bring these opinions to the mainstream Gallente public.

What is the point of getting upset? If we did, I'm sure some sweater-wearing critic from the University of Caille would be on here railing that the work is metaphorical and that we've been de-humanised to the point where we can no longer separate works of illustrative fiction from reportage.

I chuckled a bit because a lot of people from the University of Caille have the annoying sweater-wearing critic look. But yes you have a point. Though I feel that you shouldn't ignore it either, otherwise this stuff would be allowed to flourish until it's integrated into our society.

The main downside of Gallentean society is that if it makes me feel good, it must be good. As long as this slander can be done in a way that entertains or at least intrigues the public, it will continue to be excepted no matter how incorrect it is.

Pretty standard fare, though obviously shameful that a government sanctioned body should endorse it.

Then again the under-current of racism that goes unreported in the Federation, despite their apparent mandate against it, runs almost as strong as it does in any of the other Big Four empires. Simply put, despite the flowery prose and the ability to waste three years or more of one's life in 'Cultural Studies and Human Liberty' style kredit-sink courses, the Federation is every bit as prone to the demonisation of others and petty name-calling it so despises in it's neighbouring nations.

As an Intaki immigrant I cannot speak for how this drivel affects me as a Caldari in the racial sense, but culturally it is laughable. I've had my fair share of flak firstly for being an advocate of an independent Intaki home world and secondly for having emigrated to the State after my post-graduation wanderings led me to the place that felt like home to me. All of it centres around the prejudice against a perceived inadequacy or fallacious injustice; in the case of my independence advocacy it is a focus on the fact that the Intaki 'had to be uplifted' to their current status and that we should be thankful for that above and beyond reciprocal trade and comradeship - the various racial slurs concerning home world Intaki tend to focus on a preconception of misty eyed spiritualists who are eons behind the times, or rag swaddled gurus using 'cheap tricks and nonsense' to pan handle from the great and mighty Federation. Of course, the integrated peoples have less to worry about - they are 'civilised'.

In the case of my State citizenship, or as far as any capsuleer can claim to have such, parity with these brutish attempts at the defamation of an entire culture is achieved. Usually, I receive more refined attempts to cast any State supporter as (paradoxically) simultaneously a self-obsessed misanthrope 'gaming the system and their fellow man', and a mindless drone that comes with 5 pull-ring phrases exhorting genocide and corporate dominion. Clearly this, as in the previous example, is the attempt of a weak mind to look down on what they do not hold as a personal value and deride it as crude, stifling or somehow beneath them.

To this I can respond with only one thing (to the Blaque supporters and U-NATs); your Federation is a legally binding charter that holds a disparate, scatter-gun collection of nations and other entities together in a military, industrial and economic union that purports to advance the cause of individual liberty and the right to self-expression. As with any successful, large inter-stellar culture you have managed to find a point of commonality that prevents every local try-hard from breaking out the assault rifles and megaphones (at least successfully). However, that point of commonality is looking awfully weak when material like this is approved for circulation; suggesting that someone is less than human, or at least less than Gallente, for living in a different paradigm. This moves beyond the usual patronising garbage and into the realm of hypocrisy, highlighting that the need to control thought regarding other cultures supersedes the right to freedom of thought.

As with any wide-spread, grasping move in a culture with such an ad-hoc national structure, the lowest income families are the ones that will suffer for this. For every UoC life-studies student on a parental 'bursary for life' who picks up a placard to shout, one way or another, against injustice that may or may not exist, there will be a disadvantaged child who watches this racist drivel and at a young age resolves to sign up, to fuel the ailing Federation military, all for the mere purpose of breaking Caldari skulls. No duty, no national pride, just a flag draped around blood-hungry hate calling itself patriotism. All driven by the need for a steady wage and the siren's call of being a 'hero' into the bargain.

To the OP, it is good that you have brought this to our attention and I hope that it does not jeopardize your position in your current employment, though as a capsuleer I am sure you'll bounce back either way. To Federation citizens who may read this, or capsuleers who advocate the Federation's way of life - THIS is the enemy at the gate. This is the toxic effect of a war against the State on a generation raised within the confines of such a singularity. Bald propaganda, portrayed in such a childish manner (which is clearly aimed at the younger generations), is a means of turning your disadvantaged, mentally vulnerable and financially destitute into the next wave of soldiers. Your vaunted values of equality and freedom cease to apply when you're educating your children through their media consumption to get themselves killed fighting in a war where immortals rule the skies. One where more are boldly stepping out into the light of day on planets around the cluster, laden with firepower that would make a mortal platoon think twice about their chances against a mere handful of immortal marines.

The State way of life is not anathema to yours, as far as I can see no Caldari wants the Gallente to live our way. However, tolerance of this adversarial, toxic attempt to manipulate your very own children in a publicly funded manner is the very essence of your culture's bane - when your nation starts sacrificing core values to better weather the strength of purpose of an opposite number. Stand up to this, question your Black Eagle sponsored events, media and rallies. If you want to remain Federation citizens, proud to your charter and freedoms, you cannot tolerate this. Dismiss me as a disruptive State loyalist if you will, but I respect your right to live under your code of conduct, as misguided as I may believe it to be. Don't make the mistake of thinking that adherence to your constitution has the prerequisite of unbending loyalty to those who claim to represent it.

Are you congratulating people for their ability to read media well, or should you be looking for less obvious cases with similar underlying message. Futhermore, my point to mr.Tuulinen stands, Gallante as a society are a hound that will start barking before biting. They will do it because they need popular internal support, or outcry before they can bite.

That is why dismissing such propaganda, or Gallantean medias vocality about matters outside their Concord recognized sovereignity is an ill adviced stance.
