Wasn't today mother's day in the UK? I'm not sure if only 5k pilots taking the day off to spend time with their mums is an excellent or pitiful showing but it probably has something to do with the drop this weekend.

I'm glad a 5k drop in numbers between two points 7 days apart is enough data to predict a trend, to say that in 3 months eve will be dead...

I hope that the 5k players that were absent were learning statistics, especially statistical significances and trends.
They might have a hole or two to punch in the OP's argument when the get back

I am however reasonably happy with the troll OP has made, and am willing to bet that EVE will still be around in 12 months :)

If they were clever, they wouldn't be posting on General Discussion anyway.

Meanwhile Eve dropped from about 45,000 to 23,0000 players in the last 10 hours. This means that Eve will statistically be dead within the next 14 hours. So don't start training any long skills.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

disregarding that this is a joke thread:

The fact that the playerbase is always claiming EVE is dying the moment something is slightly off and are constantly attempting to actively stop this from happening is ironically enough the largest sign that EVE is anything but dying.

A game dies when the playerbase dont care anymore, when EVE does die its going to die silently and alone, not in a storm of topics about its oncoming demise.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Duh obviously that's inadequate if a bunch of dudes can't dress up and get together and emote each other in a pretend bar drinking pretend drinks.

I don't think EVE will die if they ban a few bots.

I want Eve to have just enough players to make it financially viable.

That way, I will be safer when I undock.

On a more serious note, is there an upper limit to the number of online players Eve can support on a single shard, or can they just keep adding hardware to support an infinite number of players?

This is not a signature.

More subscriptions = more money
More money = More developers and (to a point) better hardware
Better hardware = More players can connect to TQ

As I understood it though TQ already has the capability to support many more players than it already does. I wouldn't be surprised if it could exceed 100,000 just fine (of course with no more than a few percent of that on any given node at a time).

Why does the site's users are decreasing slowly but constantly?

Because alts and bots not visiting it.
