This isn't a new concept by any means. It's been around for years on other major forums and haven't been a problem there.

if you want to notification spam someone you can use likes or send them in game letters. Neither of which is a problem either.


Besides it's still freedom of choice. You could just not switch it on if you feel it's a problem.
