CCP is giving us an expansion. Don't we owe a gift to CCP?

If anything I'd like CCP to take more of my money. No more of these half arsed patches pawned off as "free expansions"

Give me a proper expansion.

Put the whole dev team on it. Add full avatar interaction. Fill nullsec with what the nullsecers want. Pirate hubs or whatever it was.

Just put an army of devs on the game and do all the things you want to do but haven't been able to motivate due to financial restraints and then box it as an expansion at $60. I'll buy it.

And then what happens to people who don't want to pay $60 for an expansion?
They won't be able to play the game anymore.
This would hurt CCP financially more than it would help.
Terrible idea.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

I'm sure CCP has the competence on hand to make the bigger parts of the new expansion available only to the people. who bought it.

Believe it or not but far larger MMOs than this have designed and published expansions and successfully so.

Assuming the group you're speaking of even exists. I have a hard time seeing someone fork out $20 a month for this game but drawing some arbitrary moral line in the sand over paying for an expansion.

Developers cost money, their time costs money.

All new content is something we have to pay for. The current system uses developers very scarcely. Because we don't pay for new content in large chunks they have to deliver it in meagre portions. A new ship here and there.

The fully animated avatars was just windfall from DUST. We got the captains quarters but a space station door that doesn't lead anywhere and may very well not lead anywhere for years to come.

They could even make a PLEX version of the expansion that people could buy and trade so no one has to feel left out.

At the end of the day every single piece of new content is something we have to pay for. If we finance it through the subscription fee only then it's going to be a very slow process which it has been too.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Ask not what CCP can do for you, but what you can do for CCP.

This is not a signature.

I'd just prefer a red velvet smoking jacket for lounging around the Captains Quarters, with a big golden "10" on the back.

And a pickled Sheep head on the CQ wall. THORRABLOT forever !!!! Blink

I like that one, but think that a comfortable night robe and a pair slippers would be better to be on CQ looking at the news.
