What relatively cheap ship to tank DED 6/10 and 7/10 solo.

Pretty simple really - doesn't need uber dps as time to completion isn't really a factor (I don't PvE terribly often). But it does need to be able to tank these kinds of sites. Some of them have energy neuting as well so ship must have some way around that. What battleship/battle cruiser/T2 Cruiser would you recommend ?

Obviously all these ships would be in low sec or nullsec so preferable something that's not a enormous loot pinata. To that end I want to avoid Faction/officer fittings (T2 only or very very cheap faction) and preferably a T1 BS or something simliar. What say you mission runners ?

Well the Rattle Snake with a passive shield tank can do it for you if the neuting is that heavy.

If the neuting is not to heavy then mybe a Ishkkur mite be better suited to your space if reds happen alot.


Is it a rock point a lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship point a lazer at it and profit. I dont see any problems here.

The shield ishtar can tank most plexs with ease.

Lows: All Shield Power Relays.
Mediums: 4x LSEs II, one passive hardener to suit
Highs: Whatever, some people put some medium autocannons on
Rigs: Two purger rigs


tanks like a beast. drop a can and orbit it at 500 for even more tanking

Seconding the Ishtar (Gila does fine here too). Shields for Angels, pick your poison for Serpentis/Guristas (though armor/sig/speed tanking does moderately better here), and armor for Bloods/Sanshas. You're still dead if you get neuted too far in an armor fit, but it still works surprisingly well and can pump out 450 dps (shield) or 538 dps (armor).

If damage is no issue, consider a HIC of the appropriate flavor. I can't imagine a better em/therm tanker than a fully passive Broadsword, for instance.

Yeah, Ishtar or Gila is probably the answer you're looking for. A Drake could probably tank some of those too, if it was pure-tank, but it'd have the DPS of a wet noodle.

And don't discount the Ishkur either, with its tiny sig and decent resists, it can do quite well (mine tanks over 150 DPS against Gurista without even adding a Hardener, which can jump it as high as 250 DPS tank with 42 sig). It doesn't have a ton of damage, only about 200 with Void, but it shouldn't be discounted when it comes to tanking.

Is this for the Blood 6/10's ?

A Maelstrom can do it fairly well if you know how to pilot it.

Is it possible for a Sleip to do it? I know the last overseer takes some good DPS to take down.
