Remove destroying imps or remove the attribute bonus

The one and only thing, why I hate PvP is the possibility to destroy my imps with skill speed attributes. Why not ...

1) to remove the destroying of +attribute imps on deadth

or

2) completelly remove attribute bonus from imps (while compensating it with additional remapping points)


I'm for the second idea, because imps, that improves combat attributes, may be destroyed on combat. Implement it, and watch many industrial chars joining PvP.

1a. So advantages you gain should be permanent? That doesn't really jive with CCPs vision of "with greater rewards come greater risks."
Even SP isn't exactly a "permanent" thing. The more SP you have the more advantages you have (i.e. reward)... but you pay more to keep your clone updated and when you forget to do that you lose relatively more SP than a low-SP person does (i.e. risk).

2a. Meh. Rich people should get SOME advantages for their effort... and in having high-grade implants they do incur more risk than most do due to cost.

Not supported on both counts. Instead... look into getting a Jump Clone. It's relatively cheap (cheaper than most mid-sized ships) and allows you to keep those nice shiny implants all safe and snug while you PvP away.
Oh wait... you want to have your cake AND eat it without penalty. Sorry, no dice.

Indeed Implants should not be permanent.

However with the removal of attribute bonuses from implants people would be free to plug other, combat oriented implants into their brains. If you are so concerned about the RICH, they can afford the best implants or get them more often. Anyway this change could translate into a boost in PvP activity as it has enough drawbacks as is already, and skill learning times shouldn't be one of them.

What I'm assuming he's saying is that when you're in a jump clone you don't wanna have your +5 implants on it.

Without those +5 implants you're losing time in training.

So for the not so rich people, you're losing time and money pvp'ing.

So, what he wants to do is remove attribute implants from the game and apply them directly to the attributes the same way CCP did with learning skills.

This way your training times never change, reguardless of whether you're in your jump clone pvp'ing or up in high sec running missions.

Then, those 5 implant slots can be used for more battle effectiveness for both missioners, miners, and pvp'ers.

My point is, why should a player have to lose training time in order to pvp without risking expensive attribute implants.

Instead, remove attribute implants from the game so that your training times never change(unless you remap), then use those extra 5 slots for skills.

This way you can have more effectiveness and still train at the same time.

This still gives rich people benefits though.

They'll be able to fit 10, 5% implants to boost their fighting capabilities, where as the average poor man will have 10, 3% implants.

So the rich guys will still have the risk reward factor.

You still lose all those implants if you're podded, you just don't have to worry about losing attribute implants which were only there to keep your training times down and really served no othe purpose for you, other than making you lose more isk when you were podded.

So give everyone a set number of attributes they otherwise would not have had? And no risk to said attribute points? How about no?

The current scheme of implants forces players to make decisions. Risk those +4s or jump clone to a +3 set or empty clone?Maybe its worth losing a few attribute points by going from a +4 implant to a slave set and having that armor bonus.

Having to make these decisions is good. Removing this dynamic nature would only 1. simplify things and 2. give people attributes they otherwise might not have had (previously risk averse people that pvped in empty clones get extra attributes?).

You don't lose implants when you lose your ship- just when you get podded. Lots of low-sec pvp doesn't involve podding because people don't want the sec drop.

It really doesn't make sense to keep implants on a clone waking up on the side of the galaxy- when said implants were melted in a fiery explosion.

On the other hand, implants really should potentially be harvestable when collecting corpses.

Inferno: almost as fun as chewing used medical syringes.

Make it so you can salvage an limplat or two from corpses. Yay a reason to colect corpses without feeling like a creaper.

In your example there are no choices but compromises. People get penalized with slower training times for doing what a big part of this game is about, no matter how you twist it.

Many people decide to f*ck PvP! I rather sit here in station doing nothing with my +5 implants and not going to lose training time just to see a few fireworks or stick to super safe activities. Then get bored and bail from the game.

Xavier, the game don't lose. No game pleases everybody, yet somehow, everyone expects that to be the case!

BTW, idea is bad, we have jump clones as someone said already.

^^ This is why I could care less about PVP. In a game where SP gain is measured in weeks/months/years with people only 1/4 of the way to the SP cap after nearly 10 years when there is like 25+ years worth of skills, why should I choose to bore the **** out of myself in highsec with higher SP gain or perhaps have fun in lowsec without the risk of loosing the most valuable thing: time. Its click...wait...wait...add another...wait...wait...wait...5 weeks down the line half the prereqs for one ship are done and its another 5 weeks to go...ok there is a point where a human can be patient only so much and then they either get angry or just leave (trust me, if you have delt with people on the phone and keep getting jerked around you will get fed up with waiting...which is not much different in a game or real life). Just over a year later, the alt I planned for combat which was going to be in cruiser/BC ships but needing alot of support skills to get out of the way...burned out my desired to do so and it will be canceled in a few weeks once the sub dies. Already canceled the other alt. The main...plexed out and currently just doing nothing really cause I am so bored of highsec, because the risk of a few minutes of instant gratifcation of ship to ship combat is not equal to the weeks and months spent aquiring the SP.

If CCP reduced the risk of the loss of time, the economy would jump dramaticly. I keep saying, if they changed it to a dynamic POS fuel requirement used in station (kind of like POS maintence) thats cheaper in the short run instead of the static highcost of +5 you would see alot more ship loss because that fear of loosing out of time is gone when a plus 5 goes poof! where as fuel is just consumed on an hourly basis with no risk to it.

Or on the flipside, make it more harsh for the guys who want to PVP. I mean, so ******* harsh that its painful to pop those pods and they get bored of EVE. Charge them a dollar for every pod and ship destroyed (P2W FTW!!! lol), its obvious there isn't enough consequence to their choice Twisted

And why you need the time? To train support skills to 5 for 5% added benefit? To train all races weapons and ships to 5? You need neither for pvp.

Just sit in the station and waste your time if it pleases you, but that's not playing the game.

You are literally so dumb it hurts to read this dribble.

People like you who "plan to pvp when they have the right skills" never do. You know why? Because you are scared of losing your internet pixels (be that ships or skills; note, upgrade your clone/don't lose your pod and this isn't really a problem). But really this comes down to you are scared to lose your internet pixels.

Its a trade off. Lower risk of loss for lower training time (by a few hours for long skills, not that much).

Same with most things in EVE. If you lower risk, you either lose out on something or have to do more work.

I would like to point something out here.

You get bored because of YOUR choice, not because of anything the game forced you to do. So who's fault is it you're bored?

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Risk = Reward.

Risk the implants in PvP = Faster training.
Don't risk them = Slower training.
