If Goons (or anyone) are blocking access to Jita deliberately merely by having a bunch of characters in system, then yeah I'd call that an inappropriate use of the server.

Oh I don't know. A good old blockade of a trading port sounds like a hell of a lot more appropriate use of the server than what the regular Jita resident does with (and to) it… What?

Blockading with normal game mechanics is fine.
Blockading by taking advantage of server limitations is not.

your posting is an inappropriate use of the server

You don't see a problem with someone artificially forcing Jita to hit its population cap so that people can't get in?
This is of course assuming OP's story is true.

…and yet, that's exactly what the regular Jita inhabitant does every Sunday.

And the response is the same: If people can't get in, they can go elsewhere or just use those fancy skills they've trained. vOv

If they were doing a blockade with real characters with real ships, undocked and hanging at the gates, such as a blockade actually would, sure. People then can attack the blockade & pod them using game mechanics.
Sitting in station with specially created alts just to hit Jita's server cap however.... I've got to agree thats an exploit done purely to harrass & grief people.

Maybe it would help if all the alts were spamming recruitment ads for the CFC in Jita local?

What does that even mean? Do people regularly log in hundreds of alts in Jita so that other people can't get in?
Or are you saying several hundred individuals who all happen to be in Jita at the same time are equally responsible for causing the gates to be locked down as a mere handful of people who log in hundreds of alts for the express purpose of doing so?

by the way I'm logged into jita and I see no evidence of any placeholder alts so I'm going to assume op is a pubbie altcorp member who should be commissared

Guys! I think they're doing something good!

If they grief Jita-goers enough it might encourage them to use the (miriad) other trade hubs dotted around New Eden.

which is really unfortunate because all you peasants are getting your knickers in a twist already and frankly it's a cheap and enjoyable source of entertainment

this may explain much of why goons do what they do to you

We're helping CCP discover the absolute limit of Jita's capacity. We can't even do a good thing for the community with out people claiming we're just griefing. Shame on you.
