I send probes out, and i get results, but there doesn't appear to be a way to retrieve them. The "Recover Active Probes" button is always grayed out.

Once launched they are gone....

Er... people still scan moons? Pretty sure there are relatively exhaustive online databases for them at this point.

And all proper moons are already taken...so unless you have a fleet of caps on standby to kill that POS that's there too.

Recover Active Probes is used to retrieve Core Scanner Probes and Combat Scanner Probes. The survey probes are used in a different way, and will indeed be gone after surveying.
